I just got a BlackJack Grunt, the new 10Cr17 model, and let me tell you that I'm pretty impressed. I doubted a little when I was going to buy it, because of several discussions about the new steel they're using to make it. It used to be AUS8 and now its been made in China out of 10Cr17. Mike Stewart, when asked about his impression on this steel on knifeforums, said that it should be similar to 440C and even better than AUS8. Now I think he might be right. The knife is really sturdy, well constructed and holds its edge amazingly well. What I like the most is the convex edge. I'm pretty sure that that knife is up to any task.:thumbup:

Picked up a nice little Schrade 808 jr. stock knife at the flea market today. Jigged delrin handles. Blades needed cleaned and the joints were stiff. Doesn't appear to have been sharpened ever. Cleaned up real well. Handsome little knife! :thumbup: Dale H.

Got myself a handmade Central Javanese keris with a Scandinavian meteorite folded into the blade. Stag handle and silver plated pendok (sheath). I'm into pencak silat, so I've been very interested in Indonesian weapons recently. Spent more on it than I should have, but the seller gave me a good deal on it!

Glad you guys appreciate it. Thank you for the compliment on my new wife. I really couldn't afford her, but I paid the dowry. You can't buy a keris as that's considered an insult to something which is considered a rite of passage in Indonesian culture. I haven't decided if my keris is going to make it into my EDC rotation yet though! I have to sleep on it (literally, under my pillow) to see if it is suitable for me. Good dreams mean it's a good talisman and bad dreams mean I need to pass it on to someone else.
