Your most used knife of 2009 ?

About an even 3 way split for me.

Lots of Izulas in this thread....thats awesome.

Come to think of it, lots of RATs in general. They make a badass tool, so Im not suprised!!

My Gossman PSK, Victorinox blue farmer and my NWA Woodsman got a helluva workout for the last few months of 2009.

The 2 fixed blades that I used the most in 2009 were my -

& my Breeden H.L.K.

Both of these have seen a out an equal amount of belt time & both are sweet blades ! Now for 2010 I plan on putting my "LOBO" by JK Knives to work & my EDC is my RAT Izula

Most used was easily my small sebenza as it is my edc. Next would probably be my endura and then my F1.

My most used, by a huge margin, was my little EDC scandi (maker of fuzz sticks, slicer of cheese, scourge of envelopes and packing tape):

My go-to belt knife for hikes and camping trips in 2009 was my JK Anniversary Knife:

2009 was a great year for knives. My favourite blades saw plenty of use, and they have a nice collection of scuffs and patinas to show for it.

All the best,

- Mike

I've thought about it for a while before answering but I've decided it is:

By far my Cocobolo Kitchen knife:

But out of the kitchen it is BUSSTR:

Most useful when needed would be:

Most carried is:

Fiddleback EDC

Oh- how did so many pics get up there:rolleyes::p

2009 was a weird blade year for me, I spent a lot of time trying new blades out and trying to find a good fit for my EDC gear. So it turned out that the knives I used the most wasn't the ones I carried the most...

1) Vic Fireman (Been the mainstay of my EDC kit for years)
2) Rat Cutlery RC-3 (For woods use)
3) Kershaw Mini-Cyclone (EDC fixed)
4) Rat Cutlery Izula

But the winner for usage was.... my Blackjack Grunt. Yup, it was my all around go to beater blade this last year, and I used it more then any other blade I own. Mostly because 2009 was a year of not really getting out to the bush much. I could list a couple of pages worth of blades I tried and carried, but then moved onto the next blade. Hopefully 2010 will be the year that I get to beat the crap out of ALL my blades getting out to the woods :)

Is that a Valiant?

Nice Elishewitz.

How do you like that Browning Camp Knife?

Marion

It is a Valiant- the only one I own and I am unsure of the model as I got it on the forums and have not researched it much. The Elishewitz is probably my second most used clipped folder, which is why I had to include it in a pic. The Browning does not fit my hand that well, the handle is a bit too blocky, and in that camping trip I preferred the Valiant more (still a nice knife but not quite what I was expecting in grip comfort).

Those Valiant are cool, but they are a bit too funky for me. The Browning is a bit chunky, but I am hoping I can pick one up before they are gone.

Best,

Mentor, that JK knife looks great. Well used and well loved, I also think that is one of Johns best designs.
