On the way home today, I stopped to check the mail and a totally unexpected package with"Happy Birthday !! Ed - Enjoy" from Dan @sf fanatic was in the mailbox. In the package was this Boker 2023 Damast Annual Knife. The blade is hand forged stainless damascas steel with an "Odins Eye" pattern. The covers/handles are gray and blue G-10. The fit and finish is flawless. I'm not positive but I'm thinking the blade shape is Wharncliffe. I'm very happyto have this knife. A super THANKS DAN!!!

Being in your neck o' the woods, just wondered if you knew anyone who was a bit of an expert on barrel knives..........have come in to three, need to get them valued for the widow.

@Chui Thanks Paul No, I'm afraid I don't know anybody versed in those knives. In fact, I know nobody with an interest in or connoisseurship with knives at all - apart from some Puukko fanatics. I like it but to me it's a tool and I would never spend much on one...

Why not post pics of the Barrel Knife, there are (or were...) people on here with collections and could advise on condition in a new thread. You could try Levine's thread too ? I'm sure people would like to see the knife anyway

Just added another big'n to the fold. Camillus #26 folding hunter from 2002. Mint condition with nylon sheath.

Is the fit and finish amazing? Nope! But I can’t wait to use this bad boy in the garden, super strong pull and it came wicked sharp.

The 2011 steel version of the 73 is a fantastic knife. Absolutely beautiful Snakewood on that one!
