Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

I just picked up this nice user Schrade 497. Honest patina on both the knife and sheath, but a full blade with tons of life left in her. I've always been partial to stacked leather handles, as the first knife I ever used was my dad's Imperial Prov fixed blade with leather. This is just a classic, iconic fixed blade . . . and I'm stoked!

M.Klein@sons, appears unused, other than the bail is missing, and someone engraved a sword and snake design in the cover. Stout pull on all three blades, snaps open and shut with authority. Bit of side to side in all 3 blades.. Can I put the bolsters in a padded vise and gently tighten the blades? Fit and finish otherwise pretty good. Gives off more a "tool" vibe for sure. edit: 20 bucks at the pawn shop not to bad?

Stacked leather is so classic. I know I had an old no name fixed at one time but no where the quality of that Schrade. That's why I jumped on the opportunity to grab the Lloyd LC in stacked leather when I could. Some things just seem more 'traditional' than othrrs.

I liked the Grohmann knives boat knife a lot, but the standard stainless steel is mediocre. I would have liked carbon steel version but these were not easily available where I live. However this started my interest in Nessmuk knives, the blade shape has some similarities.

When Brisa announced they have Nessmuk in their line I ordered one. This is a kit knife, I have to glue the scales and attach/grind down corby rivets. I have in mind to use 400 grit sandpaper to smooth the micarta handles, then oil them to give a deeper colour. The blade is scandi zero grind so it should slice really well, the steel is 80CrV2 carbon steel. This is used a lot in Finnish puukko's. I could use wet sandpaper to give the blade some shine. The sheath will be made of brown leather.I have strong feeling this will be another favourite.

Edit: a better picture of the knife.

I picked up this Bill Simons folder on a FB group I'm in. The only info I have is he's from Florida and the knife is #494 stamped inside the spring. Its 3 1/16" closed and as solid as anything I own. A real sweet 'gents' folder. If anyone is able to add anything. Please jump in.
