Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

Yabut I don't use my pocket knife for food prep. I use a pocket knife for so many nasty chores that I consider it unsuitable for food prep. Epoxy putty, opening sealant tubes, opening grease tubes, cutting engine hoses, trimming plastic parts for all sorts of fix-its, etc. It shocked me silly when I first started hanging out here and learned that some folks use their pocket knives for food prep.

That's why I carry two knives, or more. Left pocket for the dirty work. Right pocket is the food knife. :)

Frank, i have used a pocket knife for food prep many times in hunting camp (as well as when taking kids on an outing). I save my hunting knife for field dressing only. These were hike in camps in steep mountains so any extra weight in your pack is to be avoided.
As long as you clean your knife blade thoroughly it is safe to use. In 20+ years of using a cleaned pocket knife (esp. Spey blade) for food prep, no one has ever suffered any ill effects.

Sorry. I differentiate between pocket grime and engine oil. And have done so for pretty much all of the 55 or so years I've carried pocket knives.

If it makes it any better, I do have a couple of pocket knives that are assigned light duty. I'm OK with peeling an occasional apple with one of those.

Case/Bose Lanny's clip still sealed in shrink wrap, bought it unseen! I know these have been spotty in quality but I couldn't resist. This one isn't perfect but not far off. The only thing that really bothers me is the shield pin is very visible, It even has a slight gap in one small spot. I'm not sure Case can fix this? But it's the only reason I would consider sending it in for repair.
I've always been drawn to the Case/Bose collaborations, I also have a tribal spear which I love!

In this picture i cannot see the shield pin or the slight gap, so they are not 'glaring' issues. Infact i say you got a very good knife. Keep it as it is, and Use It !
My C/B LC has blade play, you can watch the tip move side to side. I bought it when they were just released but have not sent it back to Case for fear that it would come back worse or with some other issue.
If you have no blade play, you have a great knife.

Clutchcarter..... Very nice LC! Looks great to me.

My new Case isn't near the level of the LC, but it'll work for me.:) Just needs some work on the edge.;)

Thanks for the opinion kootenay joe - I agree, I'll just keep it as is.

Thanks Michael, That's a nice Case you've got there too! The Buck is beautiful too! I would love to pick up a 112.

Me either Mike. Maybe the dealer I bought it from shrink wrapped it? The box didn't appear to have ever been opened....I dunno.
Nice knife, but I've never seen one come shrink wrapped from Case....

Very nice Case Copperlock, particularly with that orange bone. With the graceful Clip blade, and bolster like a guard, and being a lockback, it's a very neat folding knife & it looks Great. I thought these were a saber grind but yours looks like a full flat grind ?
I have one from a few years ago, Sunset Bone ? I'll see if i can find it.

OOPS ! Wrong, Copperlock is a Full Flat Grind.
Here's mine, was a promotion in 1998, so it came with a very nice sheath.

Wow Joe! That's a nice Copperlock! I like the shield on that one. Almost looks like the same bone color. And that sheath! Very nice indeed! First one of those I've seen.

Looks like the swedge is a little different too.:)

Beautiful knife Mark...I couldn't see the pin flaw you described on my PC but it faintly shows on my Kindle...still a GREAT looking knife:thumbup:
