Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

This one showed up in the mail yesterday. I know I exaggerate sometimes, go off the rails sometimes, and otherwise act like I'm in GaGa Land (nothing to do with Lady GaGa) but this Schrade Tennessee River Trapper with jigged bone covers is superb and another thing that makes it exceptional is the lack of a shield. Just look at how the light from the window that I took this picture under reflects on the bone cover. Those aren't dust motes - they're beautiful reflections.

Big old 80T. I filed the sheepsfoot blades kick and spine so it's not jutting up above the clip. Think it looks better, well to me:)
I agree..... I'm glad I'm not the only one that does that. Once I decide I'm keeping a stockman, I smooth 'em up just like that. It makes them MUCH more carry-able. Many times I gently re-shape the spey blade, as well... turn it into more of a spear shape.
You did a good job on that one.....

Thanks Hornetguy, glad what I did didn't amount to some kind of knife sacrilege akin to sawing the fins off an old cadillac:)

Just a touch clunky imo

Better 😇

Yes... as long as you can get to the nail nicks, I want my blades to sit pretty low. And, I think Schrade made about a go-zillion of those knives, it's not like they are rare. I look at it like.... it's MY knife, if I want to mess it up, I'll do it, and take credit for it. In the grand scheme of things, they aren't terribly expensive, so if I scrap one... so be it. GEC included.
It's not like hacksawing the end off a Colt Python. o_O

I did the same thing with a Case 2318PU

I initially couldn't understand why Case designed the sheepsfoot to ride so high. The same knife with a spey instead of a punch dictates the position of the sheepsfoot. The punch rides much lower allowing the sheepsfoot to be lowered also.

Why the sheepfoot blade in a stockman typically rides high? I read once that it is intended to be easy for a gloved hand to open the sheepfoot blade.

I have lowered that blade in several of my stockman knives. Much better!

One more comment on this, then I'll butt out and quit hijacking the thread....

This is a stock pic of the Case sowbelly, showing how high the sheepfoot rides. The other is mine, after I lowered it and took that silly hump off the end of the blade. It's much more pocket friendly now....

Another day another knife, they seem to come in bunches! Nothing fancy about these covers, but I really like the blade. CV, acid wash, I’m in. Nice F&F and great action. Keep these single blade Copperheads coming Case!👍

So there I was minding my own affairs. Done with the 2021 copperhead release. Resisting the single blade, black sycamore because I've got, like, thirty 3.75-4 inch single blade pocket knives. Happy was I ☺️

Then you had to go and post this. 😲

One is on the way 🙄

Disappointed by the finish, blades not centered
:(👎

Good grief, that Tribal looks pretty bad, unless the angle of the pic makes it look worse than it is. I've got one just like it, and mine is borderline perfect.
The slimline doesn't look quite as bad... I'd probably just live with it... but I think I'd be talking to the vendor about the Tribal. Case normally does really well with those, so you should be able to get one that's more closely centered than that.

😂 😂😂Feel free to throw me under the bus if that purchase puts you over your knife budget for the month! 😉👍
Hope you get a good one and it arrives quickly. Looking forward to seeing it!
