You are very welcome, my friend.Thank you again.
Nice rescue Harry, good looking display.Found this old Cattaraugus 21476 Jack with Ebony covers at the local flea market a couple of days ago .
It cleaned up fairly easily and sharpened up well except for the chips in the pen blade and the very uneven sharpening that some previous owner did . I am sure they did the best they could with what they had . Got it pretty cheap , so I had to rescue it . The Ebony is the darkest that I have ever had . Not that I have had many of them .
It will fit in well with the others .
Harry
Beautiful knife !!! Wow that’s niceFound this one yesterday and went back this morning to get it: a 2019 Case 130th Anniversary Golden Aged Antique Bone SS Muskrat. (I'm not sure about the jigging -- corn cob, maybe? Anyone have a better idea?)
Oh, and check out that cool tang stamp date code "CXXX" and the bomb shield with "cXcaseXx" marking.
A couple of years ago I found a NIB 2009 Case chestnut bone CV swayback jack at a nearby hardware store. Then a month or so later I found another one, also a NIB 2009. I bought the second one without really knowing why, took it home, oiled the blades, and put it back in the box. From time to time I've thought about selling it. Well, this morning I took it to the local knife shop and proposed a trade, which was agreed to. And... before I left the store someone had already bought the swayback jack! Ya know, the first time I saw a muskrat I thought it was a weird pattern. And now, this is my fifth one.
