Some hasty photos of my first Al Mar; eagle ultralight talon. One has been in my to get list for long, and finally I got it.

First impressions:
Lives for it's name, this is indeed superlight! It almost feels flimsy because of it. Fit and finish is superb! No gaps anywhere, everything locks up and comes perfectly fit. Depth of the "lockhole" (or whatever you call it) seems a bit small but then again, this is rather "light use" knife. Opens very smoothly despite some reviews saying it's tight at first. Rides with superb comfort.

In other words, very nice! :thumbup:

I'm in the market for a new survival knife but am a bit bewildered by the choice, I read a tempting review on the new gerber Bear Grylls knife at www.mysurvivalknives.com but wonder if I'll just be paying for the name with that one. Has anyone bought one of these and if so what do you think of it, any alternative suggestions greatfully received.

My Last Knife purchases were a Kershaw Junkyard dog composite blade and a Spyderco Atlantic Salt straight edge with yellow handle...Got my eye on more for Christmas though...There are never enough despite what my wife thinks...Right?

finally got my crkt ag russel sting in the mail today. came dull, and the sheath came with all sorts of unnecessary garbage. inside the belt carry is working great so far, and some time with my strop will fix the dull blade.
