Your newest knife/knives

Just picked up a nice old US made Schrade Trapper model 293 in really nice shape and a Kinfolks 368 leather handled hunter off the 'bay.;-)

My son just got me a CRKT Brow Tine off Ebay for my birthday. I've wanted a larger camp knife for some time so just ordered a Browning 975 Back Country camp knife.

Hogue Ex-01 3.5" drop point black G-Mascus.

Its as good as people say it is. For the price, I couldn't be happier.

I have not been on the forum's through June-July, so I'm making a list of what has come to me during that time, and up till today.

- Madd Maxx HTM in black DLC
- Benchmade Auto Rift
- Benchmade Onslaught
- Protech TR-3-S1 (stainless frame)
- Boker Plus Schanz Integral Dagger
- Benchmade AFO II

on order

- Boker Plus Collectors 2010 knife
- Shadow Knives model VIII (Eddie White)

This was from Marcus Lin a couple weeks back.
Known primarily for his Loveless stylings, this was a little departure.

From Marcus:

This one's light and fast. The handle is just the right size with excellent ergonomics, so you can chop comfortably -plus you can also use paracord through the front rivet to safely secure it.

If you lose your grip (which is very unlikely to happen), the blade won't go flying and the handle stays in the palm of your hand due to the balance. I believe Warren Osbourne came up with this idea several years ago. This "front of the handle" location is much better for a lanyard than the end of the handle for safety reasons.

Specifications:

Steel: 5160 (heat treated to HRC 59), flat ground with a convex edge and enamel coated for rust resistance.

Blade Length: 9-1/2" (to top of scales)

Blade Width: A tad over 1-3/4"

Overall Length: 15"

Stock Thickness: 0.25"

Handle: Black Micarta with Brass Rivets

Just got my first pair of Condors, a Rodan & a Kukri Machete. I have to say I am very, very impressed with the bang for buck here.

I also want to thank the forums, as it was on this and a couple other forums that I saw Condor Knife & Tool mentioned over and over again as quality and value.

Both are great paper slicers right out of the box!

I had picked up this Fiskar's Axe, which has a nice blade on it, per a recommendation on a bushcraft forum. It's made in Finland and looks pretty good. The machete I picked up at Home Depot a week ago... it's a 22". Got it home and found out it was made in China (not the end of the world) and didn't have quality feeling and didn't look very good. It reminded me of my friend's surplus machete from the 70's but with a more comfortable grip. I returned that and got the Condor pictured above for $5 more. Sometimes cheap isn't good value, lol :D

The machete edge. I could be wrong...nah I'm not wrong.. it's not a good edge, lol. Not, at least, compared to my Condor.

I heard nothing but good things about it so I picked up a san mai III SRK. I have a fallkniven a1, and actually got the srk as a beater, and I have to say im really impressed with it. It hast the sharpest point i have ever seen on a knife, even better that my millie with came razer sharp also. I have used it to build shelter's and all around yard work and it seems to hold up really well. I couldn't see this knife failing under any of the uses I would ever put it too, and I like it so much im going to recomend it to a friend who's about to deploy.

My newest folder is a Hinderer XM-24 - Yowsa! (although I did buy a Sanrenmu 710 & 962 today)...:)

SRM 710

In the mail:

The top one (image not mine, used for display purposes).

Will likely order some more SRM knives, liking them a lot so far and since the 710 is my first frame lock since a CRKT kiss the frame lock is growing on me more...the SRM 939 is probably to be my next purchase.

Couple of new ones this week...

Sage II shown for scale. SY Regulator is a sharp pointed beast. .333 inch thick blade, fairly comfortable handle for a slab shape. BM 710 D2 is a edc replacement for my Kulgera (such a good looking knife) that is a little bigger. Plus I won't mind beating on it. Same w/the SY now that the picture taking is over. NAA Mini Master is new too. Couldn't buy one in California. But since I moved to Idaho a couple of months ago the firearm choice doors have swung wide open :)

Just got from Fed Ex an Ontario Rat-7 in D2. Not a bad knife for $90 and a big hunk of D2. It will serve it's purpose well. Also on order and should be here next week a Mcusta MC-12 Tactility folder in their Damascus style VG-10 blade.

You won't be disappointed with the SRM 939, although I had to polish mine a bit to prevent it from rust spots.

If you like SRM you'll find the Bee L01 and L05 - my most recent purchase - interesting too.
