  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Your opinion...What are the top 5 "must own" spydercos?

I think the only thing that holds the dragonfly back to most people is the small size, alot of people like bigger blades. I on the other hand enjoy the little guy :) when i carry a larger knife I also bring my dragonfly with me for smaller tasks, it gets used alot more

I think there should be at least one "little big knife" on the list. I think the Ladybug should actually be considered pretty heavily. As far as iconic must own, a Ladybug is right up there.

Dragonfly (1st choice ZDP, or H1 SE a close second)
Delica/Endura (1st choice is the ZDP, naturally)
Military/PM 2 (choose your flavor, color, steel, etc.)
Gayle Bradley (or something more exotic, Southard perhaps?)
A Mule Team for a fixed blade, just to round things out and for fun......

You all need more Spyderco Fixed blades!

Street Beat
Swick
Sage 2
Caly 3.5
Temperance 2

South Fork. Best lock on earth, better pivot than a Sebenza. Steel ain't bad. :D

Lots of good stuff here, but I am going to add....
No collection is complete with out a...Superleaf! Just got one a week ago, and I am blown away by the total package.
Cheers..

Tough. tough. tough...

1. Delica ZDP-189
2. Para2, preferably in one of the super-steels (I like 20CP)
3. Sage 2
4. Dragonfly 2 ZDP-189
5. Gayle Bradley folder

I think you'd get a pretty good exposure to Spydie folders with:
- Delica
- Caly
- Dragonfly
- PM
- A sprint run of something you like, with unique steel or locking (Caly blue? Meerkat?)

Para2(blue or green)
Gayle Bradley
Southard
Techno

5th would be one I don't own yet but will soon, the South Fork.

I can show you 4.

Spyderco Ladybug Salt 1. The no-maintenance girlfriend.

Spyderco Dragonfly 2 G10. Quality everywhere.

Spyderco Harpy. This thing feeds on the blood from you fingers at least 2 times a week in order to function properly, so prepare to make some sacrifices. In return, it will destroy anything it touches (including your fingers).

And finally, his majesty, the Spyderco Paramilitary 2.

My Spyderco Family. Look how they have grown. So proud.

Mine in no particular order:

Para 2
Millie
Stretch
Endura/Delica
Caly 3.5

I'm waiting on a Native 5. It's promising that it'll claim a top 5 spot.

Gayle Bradley--Screams quality!
Tuff--because it is!
Delica 4--How sweet it is!
SuperLeaf--Smooth & Beefy.
Stretch--underrated, but will hunt!

There are lots of great individual models and choices, but if I had to pick the essential 5 spydercos, I would go for something like this:
1) Original Manix cos it's just a classic (can substitute for M2 XL, if you can't find an original at reasonable price)
2) PM2 or Military, preferably in a fancy steel (I would like a PM2 is a super steel, but don't have one yet - and won't pay scalper prices for it. I do have a Military in s90v)
3) Street bowie (this is my favorite fixed blade, a Temperance or Mule would also be acceptable to fill this spot)
4) A classic EDC leaf blade - my choice would be the Calypso 3.5 (UK Penknife, Sage, etc, could also substitute)
5) Serrated Tasman (this covers the bases for a lightweight clipit with delica bloodlines, spyder-edge and hawkbill)

no specific order.

Starmate,- just because.

one of the lums,- (one of the old ones if you can, if its a fixed tanto that will cover the fixed blade too)

A Rescue full serrated, one of the old ones if possible (integral clip) just to show where they came from.

A stainless Endura or Delica, to cover the stainless, a Police would work too.

A Civilian or Matriarch just to cover the self defense angle.
