Your Opinions

I would be irritated to receive a blemish too. At the same time, what do you gain by scratching a perfect one?

I agree that I wouldn’t have left the post office parking lot with it. Should have sent it back to the dealer right away. Why contact Hinderer unless you bought direct from him. That’s what dealers are for. Return for replacement or refund.

To me it’s not about the scratches as I’d use the crap out of it. Its about the QC failure and what else may have been missed on that one.

I had an issue with a Hinderer once, contacted the dealer, he contacted Hinderer, I called into the warranty department to see what was going on a couple days later and they knew about me and took care of my issue.

My friend had an issue with a Firetac once, contacted Hinderer, and he was basically told to pound sand…

I’ve never had a problem returning something to DLT… they even exchanged a Xmas gift I received (bought months before) that had a QC issue for store credit. Jordan is great. That is why I always look there first if I’m hankering for a new knife.

Hope you get it worked out.

Now also wondering how DLT didn't catch it either. My last Hinderer was flawless, now I'm sorry I got rid of it. But this passed through too many hands, maybe everyone looked at it and thought it won't matter since it's a "hard use" knife????
It has some of these uniform scratches towards the tip of the blade, if not belt then perhaps milling marks from the blade being shaped.

We try to preserve the unopened nature of the box whenever possible, so we don't open any items unless there is a specific request to do so, or if its needed for photography for the listing. Send me an email at info@dlttrading.com and we will get you taken care of.

Outstanding. (And I'm not surprised.)

Well I can appreciate that you guys, especially when seals are thrown into the equation. I appreciate everyone's feedback and help here.

Oh I'm sure this wasn't accidentally scratched or mishandled in terms of wreckless work. It probably just left the line in some bad lighting, luckily all is well since they're starting the process to get it back to the shop. Shit happens

That would bug me. You're paying full price so you should get full quality control. If they sold that for discount, then I'd be okay with it.

Always go to your dealer first. They are the ones you have a contract with.

If your new Chevy has a problem, you don't contact the CEO of GM to solve the issue.

I have seen this with other manufacturers with stonewashed blades, but they disclose that there might be grind marks visible which I’m perfectly fine with, I’ve had many hinderers but to be honest the last one i had was an xm 18 and I don’t know how to describe it but it didn’t feel like a quality knife, definitely not up to Hinderer quality. I have noticed over the last year or so that the assembly cards are by people who I haven’t been familiar with in the past and it seems like the people doing the tuning aren’t the same as a year or so ago so maybe the qc has went down?

If that is the case, I would want to help him get his people up to par with their QC. After everything Rick has been through with that weirdo and the army of cucks that followed him in their quest to bring him down, I think he deserves all the positive notoriety he can get at this point. COVID has wreaked havoc on small businesses. Good help is not easy to find so here's to hoping he gets everyone where they need to be so they can perform at a level that is acceptable to his standards. My biggest issue is with the new generation of young "men" he has to select from for this line of work. They whine too much and don't work hard enough. Youngsters now just want a check without taking any pride in their work. I'm sure it's hard for small knife companies to keep the good ones because a lot of them outgrow the positions or transition into another trade where they can progress in other opportunities. I bet it's quite the balancing act for any number of mom and pop businesses in this industry.

I for one don't fault you for contacting RHK rather than simply returning the knife, given the fact that they are not easy to score and are produced in small batches. You don't want a refund, you want that knife in that configuration, without the flaw. Glad to hear it sounding like it's going to get sorted out for you.

Yeah, that would bother me too, especially in a $400 knife. Good luck in getting it resolved.
Me three. Send 'er back; that is completely unacceptable, even if it were a $20 Swiss army knife or a Chinese Old Timer.

Maybe don't even bother emailing, unless you need an RMA # for returns.

That's exactly my sentiment, I don't want my money back from DLT, I want this knife taken care of because I like it and prefer to keep it. If anything I'm saving DLT the trouble of handling the situation since they cannot remedy the imperfection anyhow.
