Now also wondering how DLT didn't catch it either. My last Hinderer was flawless, now I'm sorry I got rid of it. But this passed through too many hands, maybe everyone looked at it and thought it won't matter since it's a "hard use" knife????
It has some of these uniform scratches towards the tip of the blade, if not belt then perhaps milling marks from the blade being shaped.

Oh I'm sure this wasn't accidentally scratched or mishandled in terms of wreckless work. It probably just left the line in some bad lighting, luckily all is well since they're starting the process to get it back to the shop. Shit happensI would be irritated to receive a blemish too. At the same time, what do you gain by scratching a perfect one?
My fault for not fondling it enough in the beginningI would have returned the knife as soon as I saw the blade.
And why they're everyone's favoriteDLT has always been a cut above the rest.
If that is the case, I would want to help him get his people up to par with their QC. After everything Rick has been through with that weirdo and the army of cucks that followed him in their quest to bring him down, I think he deserves all the positive notoriety he can get at this point. COVID has wreaked havoc on small businesses. Good help is not easy to find so here's to hoping he gets everyone where they need to be so they can perform at a level that is acceptable to his standards. My biggest issue is with the new generation of young "men" he has to select from for this line of work. They whine too much and don't work hard enough. Youngsters now just want a check without taking any pride in their work. I'm sure it's hard for small knife companies to keep the good ones because a lot of them outgrow the positions or transition into another trade where they can progress in other opportunities. I bet it's quite the balancing act for any number of mom and pop businesses in this industry.I have seen this with other manufacturers with stonewashed blades, but they disclose that there might be grind marks visible which I’m perfectly fine with, I’ve had many hinderers but to be honest the last one i had was an xm 18 and I don’t know how to describe it but it didn’t feel like a quality knife, definitely not up to Hinderer quality. I have noticed over the last year or so that the assembly cards are by people who I haven’t been familiar with in the past and it seems like the people doing the tuning aren’t the same as a year or so ago so maybe the qc has went down?
Me three. Send 'er back; that is completely unacceptable, even if it were a $20 Swiss army knife or a Chinese Old Timer.Yeah, that would bother me too, especially in a $400 knife. Good luck in getting it resolved.
That's exactly my sentiment, I don't want my money back from DLT, I want this knife taken care of because I like it and prefer to keep it. If anything I'm saving DLT the trouble of handling the situation since they cannot remedy the imperfection anyhow.I for one don't fault you for contacting RHK rather than simply returning the knife, given the fact that they are not easy to score and are produced in small batches. You don't want a refund, you want that knife in that configuration, without the flaw. Glad to hear it sounding like it's going to get sorted out for you.
Haha live and learn. And DLT is an outstanding company. I’m sure they’ll take care of you.My fault for not fondling it enough in the beginning
Let this be a lesson gentlemen to not neglect your knives![]()
