I just got my instrument pilot rating in december - I've been spending a lot of time flying my RV-8, and flying cessnas with the civil air patrol. I enjoy motorcycling, although recently it's been more transportation than recreation. I'm trying to do more running and weight lifting, but time has been short. I spend gobs of time with computers - networking and phone systems, but that's more professional than recreational - but I enjoy it so much it's hard to distinguish. Bob W - I'm a huge linux fan - FOSS FTW!

I've got an H&K .40 that I'm embarrassed to admit how long it's been since it's I've fired, and would like to get a Kimber 1911 - since I seem to be WAY more accurate with it. I've got a CCW (in MN) and would carry, but I'm a civvy contractor on an army base (in IN) and 90% of my potential 'carry' time is to or from work, or traveling across non-carry states (IL, WI) so it hardly seems worth the effort.

I wish I could expand my spare time to encompass more of my interests (not to mention my spare change...) - I'd love to do more:
martial arts - since we seem to struggle so with the whole 'unarmed society' thing
photography - got a Nikon D40x last summer, and I'm still scratching my head as I shoot
camping - can't quite get the family revved up beyond the occasional afternoon hike, but I'm working on it
make my own music - I KNOW I can do better than pop radio, and the RIAA can kiss my fuzzy white a$$. (but it'll have to be instrumental - I don't see that singing thing working out for me any time soon).

and maybe some additional time with the family in there somewhere...

the RV (yeah, I'm proud of it...)

Functional ceramics-have a studio out in the country. Would like to get back into skeet shooting-used to carry a 94 average in league, but no range where I now live. I work quite a bit, so don't get as much of an opportunity to play golf as much as I would like. My wife and I spend quite a bit of time going to games in the spring and fall-my daughter plays college softball. My handguns don't get as much exercise as they should. With 4 kids and a time consuming job, like a lot of other guys, I don't have much time for myself. Things should get a little easier in the next couple of years, however.

- my dog
- astronomy with binoculars (though the weather hates me...)
- jogging, but it's more routine than hobby
- beer! (just received some austrian brands to try out :))
- plinking with co2- and airguns (mostly combined with beer and friends)
- general interest in animals and nature. When I was a kid, reading stuff about animals was my main hobby. ATM my focus is more on africa.
- If I had the money/time, I'd be hunting, too, but it's terribly expensive here! I'll have to keep on watching animals with binos instead of hunting them...
- general interest in guns since I can remember
- hiking

Me
Guns - proud owner of a 1911, 870, charles daly over/under, ruger single six, henry repeater, and some other ones.
Paintball- Tippmann 98 custom with 20 oz. tank, 14in barrel, response double trigger.
Airsoft- can't remember
Fishing bass, crappie, blue gills, catfish.
hunting- deer, turkey, quial, pheasant

Too many expensive hobbies and not enough time or money.....

Horses- have a handful of quarter horses out back. Go trail riding when I can and hopefully will get back to showing on a regular basis too.

Knifemaking- Used to finish about a knife a week, but now I'm lucky to get in the shop once a week. Still give it as much as I can.

Guns- Member of a local shooting range, try to go at least once a week for an hour or so. With the price of ammo, I should make it more like half an hour :grumpy:

Trucks-have a one ton diesel for a daily driver thats also a toy. No power mods, but lots of other stuff (train horn, onboard air, extra lights etc.)

Welding-Love to weld, need to get another project going. Have a mig and stick, looking for a TIG, and probably a OA rig sometime too.

Unfortunately for the last year or so its been nothing but overtime, then sitting on my ass wishing I didn't have to go back again so soon. Need to get back out and do something.

Let's see...
Running: plan on doing a marathon this year and a 10K in full combat equipment just to stick it to all those guys who bitch about having "heavy" running shoes.
Crossfit: an excellent workout plan, good concept in general too.
Shooting: something I've always loved.
Fishing: just an occasional thing, I'm not all that patient.
Reading: got to keep up on current events and get some inspiration and insight from the past. Count of Monte Cristo is being read right now...all 1462 pages of it (no joke)
Chasing women: that's pretty self explanatory.

Airsoft is fun when you get 40 men together dressed in tactical gear with realistic electric airsoft rifles that shoot BB's going 380fps 800-1000rpm and do full tactical simulations.
