Hi all,

I have a question for you all that want to or can post pics of your
drawings that if you where going to have your ( what you consider )
perfect knife made to your specs what would it look like. I think
most of you know mine the Breeden pathfinder. My wife drew up hers
one day and then showed me what she wanted. She calls hers the
Kat knife. I started on it today. I have my drawing and hers with
her knife cut out and holes drilled but not heat treated yet ( later today)
she wanted a very light wieght knife so I showed her the 3/32" steel
Kathy said yep that is thin and will do made out of 0-1 steel.
Here is ours.

And if you already have your perfect knife and want to show it please do.

So what woud your drawing look like?

Bryan - I like that Kat-knife quite a bit.

(p.s. I tried e-mailing you earlier today)

Kdg got your e-mail and sent a reply. I have another pic to post the original
drawing for the kelly knife that, Kelly and I drew up to gether. I did trace it with a pen to make it show up better.

Thanks kdg and t-knife for the comments on the Kat knife. Kathy said she can hardly
wait for it to get done she found some handle matieral that she liked, it is called
passionwood it is kind of pink and red. I will order it this week.

Take care,

Bryan

KIDDING:barf::p

If I only knew what my ideal blade would be....I do like that Kat knife though:thumbup:

Bear - that is LAME - UNLESS you have fishing tackle in the handle.

The Kat Knife is just about perfect for me. Perhaps an inch longer over all would do it - but I am sure you are sizing it to your wife.

PLEASE drop me a PM with pictures of the Kat knife when finished.

I really like that Kat knife, only thing I'd change is the positions of the front guard and the choil - reverse them, so that the choil is in place to allow for proper blade sharpening.

I really liked that one pic you posted of the ones you did in the user thread Sicily. Those were really outstanding:thumbup:That has about everything: Nice size, nice shape, low ricasso. I'll take one convex and one scandi :)

Or simply make a few passes with a small diameter round file just ahead of the guard. The knife can still retain it's original shape and contours and still be sharpened the way you suggest. That way it's not an overly drastic departure from the original design. Just my thoughts;)

That Kat knife is too cool! -Matt-

For the pathfinder - I really like this realized version which seems to have a more pronounced palm swell to it then pictured in the drawing. Aesthetically, the symmetry of the palm swell matching the nesmuk-like wave in the blade spine is very pleasing.

I got a 4" Pathfinder with green micarta on the way. Its getting some custom kydex right now. When it gets hear I will post pictures and offer it up for a small passaround.

Hi all I did not know that the wifes knife would be so popular I have sold two
just since posting that and I have not even got the handles on it yet.
it is in the oven now. Well for some of the comments.

Magnum22 What do you mean by straighting the lines? I just might
do that. LOL I am open for sugestions.

Hollowdeller if you really want a couple like those brown handles knives
drop me and e-mail at tacklebreeden@yahoo.com and maybe we can get that
done if you want, I did make up a scandi grind for my sister. 3.5" blade and
a little less than 4" for the handle length. For those two knives they would run about $90 dollars a piece or so.

Grimspoon drop me a-line and I can do that choil if you would like.

Bear the dog I am still LOL your answer is NOPE LOL.

I hope some others put there thoughts on here I would really like to know what your Perfect knife would or might be.

Chat with yo all later,

Bryan

ilbruche you said edge right up to the handles yes that customer wanted them that
way And so did my wife she said the space between the handle and the edge is
wasted space in her thoughts No ricasso she said and drew up her knife that way
leave it to a women to think of space LOL

Take care all,

Bryan
