Your Perfect knife

Hi all, What is up with the 3" blades and 3.25" and the 3.5" blade lengths.
I am going to place and order for all most $150.00 for the steel to cover the
orders that I am getting for the the Kat knife. Is there that much NEED for
that blade length and range??? Glad you like the Kat knife all.

Hollowdweller you bet. e-mail me and we can get the ball rolling for the blade blanks.

I like the looks of the matchete how does it feel to swing something like that with
that much of a curve?

take care,

Bryan

Bryan --

I like that Kat knife. I have to say, in answer to your question, that I think that most people are going to be most comfortable with a knife that size, as it does what most folks need a knife to do from day to day, in town or in the field. Most peoples' pocketknives that I see top out at about 3.5", and those are knives that are used all the time. When I carry a sheath knife, I prefer it to be between 3" and 4".

O1 is good stuff. You should sell a ton of these. Nice work.

Bryan, This weekend, I loaded up my son's, wife's and my posessions in a truck and put it in storage. ALOT of rope and cardbaord boxes were digested by my Fallkniven F-1. It is 3.8" and didn't feel uncomfortable and was right there when I needed. in a word it is handy

I am real curious to take your Pathfinder hiking. For hiking, I think the 5" will be perfect.

I have mainly knives in the 4-6" range, so there is always a need for a 3". I think that exact same design stretched out into a 4 or 5 inch blade would be awesome too.

Sicily,

I like smaller knives...Even 2.5 inch blade is good for me..In my neck of the woods discretion is Key...as smaller blade doesn't raise to many eyebrows.... That being said if I could walk around with a 4 incher I'd be cool with that too.

I doubt I'll ever find it. :D Now perfect size is another story. 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 inch blade is perfect for EDC.
Scott

I expect to have my perfect knife next week when Bryan finishes it up and sends it to me! You guys should see what he made for me -- a Kelly Knife modified for my big mitts and with a bit of contour in the green micarta scales. And 4 1/4" blade. I can't wait...

What I'd like to see is a knife with more guard or finger notches. Something like a Hossom handle or simlar. A broad blade with spear-type point, flat grind. Let's have it in a good grade of stainless since I live where everything rusts.

that KAT knife looks great bryan...

i'm a big fan of field knives in the 3-4 in. range...

here's a pic of 2 darn near perfect knives, for me at least:o.... a SAK farmer and a utility knife made for me by mark w. of charkie ridge knives... it's got a 3 in. 1095 blade...

Hmmmm,..... you know the two you made up for me that I drew?
I should have waited for Kathy's drawing!:foot: I think I like it better than either of the two I did. I have a real "thing" for a 3" to 3 1/2" knife with a "short" handle and spearpoint. I want one of those too now but I don't want it until Kathy gets hers.

Hi all, By all the comments for the smaller knife I will from you all. I will
have Kathy start drawing more often:D

nmjoe I can hardly wait to see the pics of your new knife.:D

Jeff H I am ordering Kathys handles on tuesday and some other stuff too.
I have started hers all ready and when the handles come in I will get it made
up for her. Then I can start on yours:thumbup: I got your two knives ready and
will be shipping them out on Tuesday. YEA! Kathy smiled and giggled at your
post on with the little green symbol. She likes your two knives that you drew up
thay are on the kitchen counter as I write and she just does not let any knives
on her counter. LOL LOL

Mike I think you got the bases covered with those two knives. Very nice.

Take care all,

Bryan
