Your preferred sharpening angle on the Sebenza?

I just got a wicked edge a few weeks ago and still breaking the stones. Do you use the clamp extension to get 15 dgs?
Thanks
With the stock arms you should be able to get 15 dps. If the extension you're referring to is the riser block that comes with the ball joint arms then that will definitely allow you 15 dps. Either way, an angle cube is a must with this system to know for sure. The only issue with sharpening at 15 dps in some cases is that when lowering the angle a degree or two to strop, sometimes the strop will hit the vise rather than touching the blade.

Thanks, i'll try it when the stones are ready, i have the ball joint arms and the cube. I might strop the knife by hand if needed which is what i'm currenty doing.

FYI, according to WE site, Mr. Allison started a thread in the effects, in regarding stropping angle, controlled, first with cow hide, will soon be with balsa. Very interesting reads.

IMO, with the relatively low RC value of 58/59 on the Sebenza steel, I would want my DPS on the high, rather than the low side to preserve the soft edge. Also, very interesting that I have way better results from stropping on the WE than by hand, especially at the critical lower differential angle than grinding. I simply can not calibrate mentally and maintain the consistent angle, whether sharpening or stropping free hand.

For me the key is to have an edge below 20dps so I can do quick touch ups on my sharpmaker. I reprofile with my edge pro and then do all future touch ups and sharpening on the sharpmaker.... Makes it very easy to maintain.
