some interesting videos on the topic. He's got a bunch more videos on his youtube testing all sorts of stuff like this. Stassa23 also has a few.

No they are not sadly. Sacha Thiel makes what looks to be quite a nice thin version called the Citizen. Never handled one though. None will likely be as thin or slicey as the Exskelibur framelock from Boker.

Mo2 Mo2 you have to get the full ti framelock version. It is way better built than the linerlock versions. Mine constantly kicks way more expensive knives out of my pocket.

I have the full ti framelock a lexk. It's not as slicey as the liner lock which is amazing. But I love the ti framelock all the same. Fidget monster.

the lexk is made by burger right? It is much thicker than the boker framelocks

I understand people’s definition of “slicey” may vary. To me it has a lot to do with thinness behind the edge and grind. What would you say is the sliciest folder you own?

For "tactical" knife, Starmate, for self defence, serrated Matriarch, for slipjoint Douk Douk.

I guess he meant the Boker Ti version.
According to the specs of Berger EXK, it seems quite similar to those of Boker Esxkelibur and should be as slicey.
Is it not?

LEXK is made by burger. Sorry was confused between what you were saying. The lexk is the frame lock version made by Trevor Burger. The EXK is the liner lock version of Trevor burgers with a slicey blade. Both are 10 times better overall than the boker versions.

The boker liner lock that I have is slicer than the boker frame lock that I also have (that you also have).

I am curious to know what makes the difference in cutting ability between the liner lock and frame lock Bokers.
I thought the blade specs are same.

I found that Boker manufacturing is not super consistent.
I have two Ti Boker Exskeliburs.
One is ground better and a better slicer than the other.

So, I am wondering if the difference is due to the variability of manufacturing.
If not, I need to get a liner lock version.

Well I just looked at them just now and neither of them is sharp since I haven't sharpened them in a year. I'm getting my new m2 hapstone in October, so I'll probably do that then. The ergos of the liner lock are better because the frame lock is so thin. The blades however look very similar but ground different. The liner looks like maybe a hollow grind. I also don't have a meter with me atm to tell how thick behind the edge they are. You should without a doubt try the liner lock version though. I was gonna take a video but if they ain't sharp it doesn't really help.

No you are confused by what he is saying. The boker linerlock and framelock are the same in terms of slicyness. Both are slicier than any of the Trevor Burger versions. I was saying that the Boker Framelocks are built much better than the linerlock version.

He is saying that the Trevor Burger LEXK (framelock) is less slicy than the Trevor Burger EXK (linerlock)

Lapedog Lapedog

I may be.
But above is what he wrote.

I understand that Burger LEXK frame lock has a 0.15" or 0.16" blade which is much thicker than Burger EXK or Boker Exskelibur.

...large Sebbie with hollow-grind...1/8" spine. Beats anything else with similar thickness in flat grind...
