Just curious to what everyone is carrying in this price range im looking at getting a knife in this proce range or more than one as long as the total is below 120 I've got my eye on a few out there such as the

Buck marksman

Spyderco manix 2, stretch, or delica

Benchmade Griptillian or ritter grip

Kershaw Link and knockout

------------------------------------
I like easy to clean

Nice blade steel

Robust as I'm an active duty Marine

Thin in the pocket

Easy to clean

2.75-3.75" blade

-------------------

I don't like

Tanto blades

Coldsteels warranty

Thick knives

Really heavy knives

Thanks for all yall help!

I really like my kershaw zing but would like something with a little nicer.

Also like the spyderco paramilitary but I'm really concerned about the tip breaking

If those were my guidelines, I'd rank the knives you mentioned as:

Manix 2
Standard 154CM/Noryl Grip
VG10/FRN Stretch

The Delica is a little small for my taste although it is certainly a thin carry. The Grip won't be thin but it is robust, both the blade & lock, and the frame & scales. The Manix 2 is just what it looks like... very stout and dependable. But it also takes up a lot of real estate because it's so wide. I've never had the Kershaws or the Buck that you listed so I can't help with them.

I might also suggest checking out the Benchmade 522. It's 440C stainless, Grivory scales (think Noryl, FRN, that kind of man made material), AXIS lock, 3.4" blade. Less than $100 at Blade HQ.

Spyderco Paramilitary 2, Cold Steel Code 4. Best EDC blades out there if you ask me. I wouldn't worry about the tip of the former breaking so long as you just use it for its intended purpose and carry something else for prying.

I gave a friend a para 2 a while back, he ended up breaking the tip after a few months. I had the knife prior to that for a year and a half without any problems. If you have a decent idea of how to use a knife i doubt its ever gonna be an issue.

edit - (friend wasn't into knives previously)

With that budget you have a ton to choose from. I love my Buck Marksman, Cold Steel has the American Lawman or AK-47, the Manix 2 you mentioned is a great blade and the above mentioned H&K 14715 is rock solid as well.

Cant go wrong with pm2 or full size grip! I find myself trading days I carry those two, but for harder use i'd probably go with the 551 grip.

One thing I can't help but notice, is that you don't have any fixed blades on your list. A small fixed blade is almost always going to be more robust, and easier to clean. Were I in you shoes, I'd be taking a seriously good hard look at an ESEE Izula 2. i have one, and that little thing is tough as nails. Remember, a fixed blade does not rely on any locking mechanism for strength. It's just one solid hunk of steel which makes it very strong, and also easy to clean since there are no parts to it to attract grime, sand, grit and any other crap.

Boker plus decade edition exskelibur absolutely blew me away. I found the finish of the carbon fiber better than ZTs that cost twice as much.

Agree with the others that the pm2 is one of the best folders on the market. The grip is a very strong, light edc but thick in the pocket or waistband. The manix 2 might be a better value with s30v steel, and g10 scales, both materials better than the grip for about the same price. At least look at the Cold Steel American Lawman. A thin, very strong hard use knife that is slim and a terrific bargain. In many ways as good as the pm2.
I ve had no problem with Cold Steel customer service.

For the weight, I'm surprised the delica ain't broken yet it feels so light and to me light feels weak but it ain't. I got large hands and it's really comfortable in hand.

The Stretch, Manix 110V, or Benchmade 531 ($131 usually) or 14715/14716 would be my recommendations.

Just a suggestion... Bright colored scales or a bright colored lanyard. Cut open a mre at night lay knife down beside you- move out- someone else has got 120$ knife. Good luck and semper fi

If you can up your budget by $25 you can get a ZT 0566 with Elmax blade. Elmax is very corrosion resistant and extremely tough. The 0566 is a nice just right size in terms of length and thickness. Since you're a Marine you might also consider the Benchmade 551 H20 Griptilian with even more corrosion resistant N680 steel or Spyderco's Salt series knives with literally rust proof H1 steel.

Griptilian. Ive carried this knife since I was about 17, I got it in place of a High School Class Ring. I'm nearing 22 now and this blade has never let me down. My only regret is not getting a plain blade. What was I thinking with those Shark Bites? The pic is from about April, the knife is a little more worn now.

my top choices to fit those requirements would be the Manix 2 and Paramilitary 2. A lot of people like the Spyderco Endura and Benchmade 710 and 551 and I think those would qualify as well.
