If we're goin' with long guns, I'll go with my Stevens single shot 20 ga. I have taken deer, hog, squirrel, dove, teal, and coyote with it. I figger that'll do just fine for me. If I had to pick a rifle I would go with my Marlin 30-30. Not the best all around, but my most comfortable shooter.
My do it all woods gun is a Marlin 1994 in .357 mag. I added a set of Ashley XS sights and cleaed up the trigger and action a bit and its about the perfect PC/people friendly rifle. I also have a 44 mag Marlin 1894 "limited" that I just bought last month. It has a factory 16" barrel and is a beautifull lever action. I also carry either my S&W Model 15 38 Spl or my S&W PC 66 Carry Comp in .357 Mag as a back up to either rifle.
I have a H&R single shot that was a 357 Mag, I had the chamber reamed to 357 Maximum. Now it shoots 38. 357 and 357 Max. The Max was never very popular and was almost exclusively used by handgun silhouette shooters. Dan Wesson and T/C chambered it for a while.
If I could afford it, a European 3 barrel drilling. 22lr over a side by side, left would be 12 bore, right would be 7.9x57mm or something near.
That covers just about everything.
