Your TOUGHEST knife under $100...

Evwrything is relative. In my world, "beat the hell out" does not co-exist with folding knives. I am talking about cutting through steel duck work or stone-filled ground. Fixed blades would be a better choice.

I beat my Kershaw tremor pretty damn hard it's my shop knife. That and my cold steel code 4 are my toughest folders

What is your go to, beat with a hammer through a car door knife that you try to stick into trees, sheetrock walls and concrete? Show me yours and
I'll show you mine.

Last comment I'll make on the subject, nothin' drives me crazier than a person who posts asking for answers and pictures but won't share theirs. Maybe it's just me but the least the OPs can do is give their examples before askin' everyone else to put more effort into their post than they're willin' to. I'll post an answer and a pic when I see the OP does.

This is the 4th thread he has done this. Since joining on the 9th this is the 12th thread he has started. Something to think about.....

Before anyone else gets their panties in a bunch, I'd just like to say (even though I don't find it necessary to have to explain myself) that I'm very new to the world of knives, these threads I post are because I'm very interested in the answeres. I don't have a knife that I've used a whole lot because my knives are less than a month old. I'm trying to get an idea of good quality strong knives under $100 as a future reference. Good enough??

Not posting on my thread if you have such a problem with me? Because I can promise you this, you won't be missed by me if you choose not to in the future. Just In case you were wondering!

Maybe for some but for a lot of us this is a community. Give and take. You can't keep asking for pictures with out posting some of your own. Folks will get tired of it. Plus, it is not that hard and it connects you to the rest of us, makes you part of the community. Give and take.

Here are some instructions on how to post pictures: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1394713-How-do-I-post-pictures-from-a

So take some and post them up when you ask for pictures. IF all you want is pictures of various knives google images will be way better than starting lots of different threads asking for pics. Plus, posting your pictures makes you part of this place :)

I'll I'm asking is for you to contribute to the thread you started. It is not your thread, it belongs to the forum. And I can promise you that if you keep asking for pictures or asking questions without contributing members will get tired of it and you will get less answers and pictures. Remember that give and take thing I mentioned? Anyway, take the advice you've been given or don't, doesn't matter to me. Take care

Good enough at least that I don't mind posting a pic and my opinion.

With that said, I still will use a fixed blade for my toughest tasks... The EK Model 5 Combat Bowie is one of the toughest FB knives I own and has been up to any task I throw at it.

but if I had to pick one that I got for under $100, the Cold Steel Twistmaster. Carbon V steel, takes a wicked edge and I've beat mine through 3-4 inch logs to make firewood and shelter. The bad news is CSS doesn't make 'em anymore. Good news is they're out there used in like new shape for under $50 That's the large CS with a 5 7/8" blade on top of an Opinel #8

First of all, I thought a forum about knives would have more men in it. My apologies. Secondly, and once again, don't look at my posts if you have such a problem with them. If it works out to where less people comment on my thread due to the same issue that you have with me that keeps you up at night, then I'll cross that bridge when I get to it, I suppose. But if what I do or don't do bothers you this much, ma'am, then I suggest you maybe pick up another hobby that may distract you from bothering people on the internet who are only interested in the hobby of knives so much that they're asking the help of others, who are also interested, With no bad intentions.

But man oh man, it's gonna be people like you that keep noobs away from posting on forums such as these. So since all you ask of me is to "contribute" then all I ask of you, is to....... wait for it....

NOT contribute, on threads that I post. Deal? Thanks.

I think we can do without the misogynistic insults. There are plenty of men and women who post here and we can do with out that garbage. I was trying to help a noob but you weren't "receptive" from the get go. Maybe try to be more receptive when others try to help next time. Again, take care.

from personal experience i would have to say the basic spyderco endura and the manix 2 are really tough knives. a few years back i bought a couple enduras and one of them was a lemon that had a lot of blade play right from the factory. so i said ok, im just going to carry this one with me at my job in construction and im just going to beat the hell out of it. i was surprised how tough the blade was, i even tried to make the lock fail just to see how much it could take and it held up fine.

as for the manix 2, i gave one to my good friend as a gift, and he has been carrying it all the time for the past few years. he is not a knife guy, so he has used the knife for all kinds of different things. when i saw the knife again just recently, there were so many scratches all over the knife and a few small chips here and there, it was very well used. but what surprised me most was that it was still extremely sharp! it had never been sharpened once after constant use for a couple years and possibly misuse and could still slice paper no problem. i actually had a pic of his manix that i wanted to post but i accidentally deleted it, ill get it next time and show you guys.
