Your unusual EDC items?

Cool topic  :).

I made this little rubber doohickey so my 1 AA flashlight wouldn't roll around. It also allows me to set the light at various angles depending on where on the light I position it or on which edge I place the doohickey.

Yeah, I hate it when my flashlight just rolls everywhere lol. Nice.

Creative! Although don’t the pliers look a tad uncomfortable?

Thanks.

I don't notice that any of the stuff is there. The pliers don't contact my leg. All the stuff does add weight to already heavy boots, but like I said, I've been doing this for a few decades now so I'm quite used to the weight.

The only issue I had to watch out for is that I had to position everything in such a way that nothing gets jammed into the back of my thighs when I squat down.

There are certain things I like to always have on me, and carrying them mounted to my boots is the easiest way. I don't like having a lot of stuff on my belt or in my pockets, nor do I want to carry or wear any kind of pouch.

Very cool. I had lace up boots with an external knife holster attached when I was a boy (about 1960). My mom had ordered them through the Sears catalog. The knife pocket was too small for a Boy Scout knife so I kept a fingernail clipper in it. I haven't seen boots like that again until you posted your boots.

I think Tiguy keeps driver bits in one.
I shortened a Craftsman 1/4" box end ignition wrench to fit the clam shell coin purse. You can fit another 8 or so 1/4" drive bits in the purse. The Chapman bits are handy because they are winged to keep them from slipping through the box. They also have a spring loaded ball to keep them in the "box".View attachment 1591484

You ever thought about cutting the end off one of these micro bit ratchets and using it instead ?

The ignition wrench can be used with standard bits. You just have to support them to keep them in the box. When the speeders are removed from the Chapman bits, the weights are similar to standard bits. I can easily live without a ratchet on a field tool, and the compactness of the box wrench lets it rest in the coin purse.View attachment 1591958

That works I guess.

I'm not cutting my Chapmans up, but I use them for gun work and need the spinners they have incorporated.

Btw obviously you've found what works and I'm not trying to convince you of otherwise at this point, but I just wanted to point out that the Power torque bit ratchet I have pictured is pretty tiny.
Much smaller and lighter weight than the bit ratchet you have pictured.
It probably ways about as much as an 11mm DOE ignition wrench.

These ratchets are fairly small, but none will fit in the coin purse. The middle one will not accept an unmodified Chapman bit (no through hole). Chapman bits are cheap enough to modify to your requirements. Many screw drivers will not accept Chapman bits with speeders on them.View attachment 1592038

They are pretty affordable.
At between $1.50-$1.80 a piece, not as cheap as many regular bits but they are certainly worth every penny.

This actually just reminded me to replace the #26 I broke a couple months ago, as well as get the 2 Robertsons I need , and the 2 new flat blade sizes they have introduced recently.
I also ordered a couple bit racks and another stubby bit driver.
I was going to get the master case, but I really just need my 7300 case and a couple racks for some overflow bits.

I just found something I had carried for a while in my first pocket organizer.
I had been inspired by tiguy7 with his cut down ignition wrench but wanted a the ratcheting capability, so I went with a cut down 1/4 ratcheting box wrench.

I don't remember how much I used it or exactly why I stopped carrying it, but it is a very easy tool to carry and forget about till you need it.

Left back pocket (or as I like to call ”a** pocket) I carry up to five poo bags for my dog and in the right back pocket I got some face masks. For the summer I also carry tick tool with pocket suspension clip clipped to my left front pocket because every summer I get one or two ticks in my dog and I really want to get them off ASAP.

I always have one of these in my wallet. They come in handy when I’m out to eat.

Yep, the wallet has one of these at all times. I use the Plackers Micro Mint for the extra minty fresh experience.

In the Maxpedition EDC I have a sleeve of the Soft Picks from GUM.
