Recommendation? YouTube knife reviewers: Any #1 favorite??

Fun to see the other side.
Making knife videos is a fun technical challenge, and honestly, the videos really do help people out. There are always negative people out there, but that is natural on such a large platform like youtube.
The majority of my views come from the search feature, it has always been a goal to help people find information on knives that otherwise may be a blind purchase.
Over the last 10 years or so, the niche has really grown, and it has become as much about the influencer personalities as it is the knives. Just an evolution of how youtube operates.
I just like knives, and I like video gadgets and stuff. And heck, I make enough money every month to take the wife to Applebees 🤓

My personal favorites in no particular order (I’m not on any of their payroll unfortunately):

Gideons Tactical
Cedric and Ada
Advanced Knife Bro
Dutch Bushcraft Knives
Knife Center (yes, they’re selling you the knives, but DCA is so wholesome)
Outdoors55 (great technique breakdown on sharpening)
Pan Piano (oops)

I appreciate any reviewer who will tell you the pros and cons of knives they review.

I stopped watching a bunch of them because many guys seem to come off as elitists after becoming popular. Metal Complex is the biggest offender to me. I like Knifecenter and I really like The Apostle P because his sale videos are like a whole bunch of mini reviews and I see stuff that I normally wouldn't. I miss the Late Boy Scout though. I always liked his stuff. I reckon I don't watch reviewers that much since there's not really much out there that appeals to me anymore. A lot of knives coming out of the States are just remakes of old versions and you can only watch so much of that...

I watch a handful from time to time if I am looking for specific info on a specific knife...but I don't check them just to see what's out there.

"Bearded Gear" has had a few reviews which I have found to be useful and spot on. I don't remember if anyone mentioned his stuff.

In general, I like the guys who are straight shooters, pro and con, and don't take themselves too seriously. A little humor is always appreciated as well.

This was my thought exactly, I'll watch a reviewer because they have a video on a knife I'm interested in, not the other way around. A lot of the videos I watch aren't even in a language I understand but they show the various angles of the knife.

Of the channels I've seen, Advanced Knife Bro and Dutch Bushcraft Knives stand out for making videos that are actually entertaining, even if you're not interested in that exact knife.

I see a lot from Metal Complex, Shabazz, and Neeves just because they make tons of videos and seem more likely to have one on the particular knife I'm looking at. Neeves has some of the worst takes and useless commentary out there IMO, but I admire his consistency in getting videos out there and giving us at least something to go off of.

Havent watched any in a long time. I dont care so much what these "youtubers" have to say about knives, i do care about good clear images of the knives and measurements. Its the same for watch reviewers, they have to say nice things generally so they keep getting knives. You know whats really fun? the channels that shoot the knives or do stupid torture tests. thats always amusing.

Can't say I've found one yet that I truly like. Some are more tolerable than others. But I generally only watch a knife review if there's a particular model that I'm interested in. However, I don't make it through most videos.

I do appreciate David C. Andersen's reviews. He's generally no-nonsense.

1) Cutlery Lover - Mellow, doesn't bombard you with the latest and greatest. Reminds me of old knife youtube.
2) We All Juggle Knives - Much like the above.
3) KnifeCenter - The knives of the week presentation. I like the host's demeanor, he doesn't get ahead of himself and oversell things.
4) Antique Bowie Knife Channel - https://www.youtube.com/@antiquebowieknifechannel4611/videos . Thoughtful info on antique Bowie knives. He doesn't make videos just to make them.
5) This Old Sword - https://www.youtube.com/@ThisOldSwordBladeReviews. He just popped into my Youtube suggestions, and I'm finding his stuff pretty good.
6) Western Maine Defensive Tactics - https://www.youtube.com/@WMDTVIDS/videos. Doesn't put out much, but is thoughtful when he does. He's one of those people that only makes a video when he's fired up about something.

Those are the spots I check on a consistent basis now. Others are more on a knife by knife basis.

If I am considering buying or disassembling a knife, I look for it on Nick Shabazz.

Knife Steel Nerds is great, but I read the web site more than I watch on Youtube.

I like people who do more or less serious tests, such as Cedric & Ada, LuvThemKnives, Outdoors55, and--especially because they enjoy using knives so much--DBK.

I like Joe X because sometimes I use knives for purposes we all know they were not intended for.

But my favorite Youtube channel is Project Farm, which sometimes tests knives and sharpeners, but has so much other great stuff!

Stassa23 is my favorite. I like C&A and MetalComplex, too. I haven't watched Nick in a while, no real reason. There are plenty I don't like, but if I had to guess I would get along fine with them in a social setting, as long as we didn't have to talk knives.

These days mainly knifecenter. No shouting, wholesome, professional videos, interesting.

I may watch others, when looking for some specific information on the knife.

Hard to find a youtube knife channel who doesn't succumb to marketing. Hell it's not only knives, as soon as you review some products you become an "influencer".

JoeX 😅

... I am surprised nobody ?seems to have mentioned nutnfancy.

Though never my cup of tea he was very popular a decade ago, from what I remember
