I enjoying watching some of Jim's videos and was wondering if you guys knew any similar knife reviewers on youtube. I use to like nutnfancy but he hasn't done any knife stuff for a while so I've pretty much given up on him.

GTKii or whatever his user name is. I really like his throat clearing noise that he makes in the beginning of every video as well as throughout as he's talking. Also he's a lot more "real" in terms of giving his opinion. Jim Skelton was cool to watch in the beginning because he's so fluid and articulate.... but then I came to realize that every knife he reviews is "AMAZING" and has nothing bad to say about any of them. I felt like I was watching a sales pitch more than anything.... which I wouldn't be surprised if his knife reviews are secretly sales pitches.

I like Jim Skeltons videos I kinda wish he would do overviews on some more production pieces, I mean seeing a custom Zirconium frame lock is cool and all but that probably costs more than my car, i did like his overview of the manix and microtech doc though

This is really my issue with him. I still watch his videos though, some of those custom knives he has are just insane.

The hard use reviews from Vininull are cool, I don't speak Russian but (moved)pictures often say more than words ;-)

If you have a smart phone or tablet and can download the instagram app, check out Jimskeltontv (on instagram) You can also view it on the computer but the phone and tablet app allows you to click on the links within the comments. He has a huge following on Instagram and is followed by a great many knife makers and enthusiasts. You can follow some of folks who like or comment on his reviews... Seriously, if you go to his instagram page it's pure knife porn...

Haha I know what you mean. He showed off his blade show haul and holy moly! Whole lot of cash sitting on his table, definitely worth more than my car, perhaps two of them!

The Wieners and Steel guys are entertaining, and give some good views/info on knives, mostly higher-end, but some production folders mixed in.

Mr. Skelton seems intelligent, articulate and is genuinely fun to watch for a bit, but I really don't consider his videos to be reviews in a manner that's useful to me. He's more giving an overview and aesthetic impressions of knives that I can't afford and am not honestly that interested in because of it. I don't really care for Nutnfancy, but his reviews are at least based on use of the item and practical (sometimes impractical) application.

I'd have to agree here, and after watching several of his videos I feel he knows very little about knives... besides the ones he thinks are pretty...

..which I wouldn't be surprised if his knife reviews are secretly sales pitches.

the whole wieners and steel crew have some nice video's, however I personally believe Jim's one of the best, and non compare.

TheApostleP makes some good stuff, though it is probably routine for him to criticize factory edges. To say that he doesn't pull punches is an understatement. Even with some things he likes, he may roast a design point or material choice.

Think Jim's channel is very much a sales pitch , I do like his sales pitches though :)

Edge observer also makes quality production reviews , then there is everyday commentary ....

Problem is , not many youtubers willing to do honest , custom knife use every day reviews might be crucified for this but do any of them really use their knives besides opening letters or cutting an apple :p

I look at Jim Skelton's videos not as reviews, but knife maker showcases if you will. He never really talks about the function aspect of a knife or testing, but rather highlights some very cool knives from some equally cool makers. TNP really tests knives in realistic use conditions and is extremely straightforward, however he's not into the custom high end market. Both Jim and TNP's videos do get old very fast and I find myself only able to watch about half of each video.
