I would not have thought it could go for that much. I know the DLC Tilt's were going crazy, but to follow suit with the 777. Smiles. Just hope BHQ comes through with their pre-orders, but mine would be a keeper all the way.

They'll feel real awesome when the hundreds and hundreds that haven't been released yet come out

The guy who sold that 0777 on the Bay is a member here and bought that knife from me (#212). Gave me a big song and dance about how badly he wanted one, blah blah blah. Said he would give me first chance to buy it back if he ever sold it. Seems he couldn't wait to get his hands on it so he could just sell it off. I don't mind someone making a little money on it, but in my mind he's just a scammer and that won't change. I won't deal with him ever again.

Id share his name.

Poolhustler, I wondered that since the number was the same as the one you sold here. So much for character and decorum in general. I figured it had to be whoever you sold it to, but I didn't want to believe it was someone here. oh well.

One never knows what ebay may bring and that may be his reply if you asked him why. That's a bit higher than what I thought.

I want one of those knives so bad. It's a complete art. Maybe take it to Blade one year and have the designer sign it.

I was just hoping that it would have went to someone who would really love it and enjoy it. I have no desire to drag it out any more. I would venture to guess that eventually did go to someone who really wanted one and at 1225 simoleans :)

Wow.. checked the guy's BF profile. Pretty much all his posts are $OLD ones.. He's just another flipper. They have their roles in the market, making people work harder to own and keep them.

0 feedback for the buyer. I wonder if it is legit. I also wonder if it was someone who created a new eBay ID after I bought linked him to his eBay ID. Hes the Sultan who bought up all of the near $400 Blurs.

In hindsight and to be fair, the guy who bought it from me very well could have sold it off quickly or had an offer he couldn't refuse and then the new buyer listed it on the bay, but I have my doubts.

Why do you guys care? He bought it with his money, sold it and made a profit. Isn't that the same concept that many many businesses use. It isn't like he forced anyone to pay that much.

The 777 is worth whatever someone will pay for it. You get 2 guys fighting over it and they'll shimmy up the price just between the two of them.
It doesn't mean anyone can sell theirs for that much, or that all of them are worth that much.

Who cares though? If Joe Blow went out and bought one he can eat it for all I care. I was surprised anyone would pay that much for it. They're beautiful, collectable, and rare, but they're not hand crafted one at a time by a master craftsman. They're just not worth that much in my opinion.

I think it was disturbing that Poolhustler sold the knife under the auspices that the buyer was going to maintain the knife, and if he ever wanted to sell it, Poolhustler would get first right of offer. That didn't happen and then having the buyer turn around and sell it on the bay for highest dollar was something Poolhustler could have done as well. However, I think he was mollified under false pretences to get the knife in the first place. Just plan lie and deceit happened as far as the 777 went. So, this isn't quite the same thing as you state it.

He didn't sell it to a personal friend. He just sold it. What the buyer does with it is no longer his business. There were no "false pretenses" to make. Sell the item for the price you want, and thats it. That's what he did. If Russ gave him a discounted collectors price for his word that he'd have first dibs to buy it back, well no offense to him, but that was foolish on his part. It's no secret that these rare knives can sell for ridiculous prices on eBay. If he wanted to make the highest profit by putting it on eBay then he's entitled to. He was on top of the preorder and took care of it once he had it. There is no shame in selling something that appreciates in value to those who have more disposable income than the rest of us. Thats just business.

Russ didn't get scammed, he was paid, put the knife in the mail, and that was the end of it. If I wanted to make the highest dollar on a uber rare knife I'd put it on eBay. If I wanted a quick easy sale, I'll sell it on the forums.

I have more distain for the idiot that paid $1225.00 for the 0777. The forum member that sold it for that much can't be blamed. The fact that now there's more publicity about the hyper inflated knife will only make it very hard for people that don't have any to afford one.
