Looking at the picture it appears the 0393BRZ has more of a Spearpoon grind rather than a spantoon. Probably just a generic picture. If it indeed is a harpoon spear, I may pick one up.

i am hearing april 12 ishAny idea on a release date? The black 0609 sure is sexy.
Does anyone know why the black versions would have only S35VN steel when the regular version has CPM-20CV?
thats exactly why i cancelled my 0609blk pre order.. sprint to me says special not more of the same old.. i preordered then saw s35vn and said "no thanks" the knife has only been out a month and there are already sprints... ill wait for a 20cv dlc or a 20cv darker handled version..It certainly lowers the price to go from 20CV to S35VN.
0609 with 20CV is $220 but with S35VN and full black DLC it's $208.
0393 with 20CV and partial DLC blade is $240 but with S35VN it's $220.
The sprints may not have the desired upgraded steels but it certainly adds some variety. Should these sprints have had 20CV/204P/M390 they would have been more attractive albeit pricier. Still, when sprint runs come to mind one expects something extra.
I know I am in the minority, but I don't consider S35VN a downgrade, just different. I think it lends itself to knives that are users. 20CV is great stuff, but for me, I like that added bit of toughness that comes with S35VN for knives I use moderately hard.It certainly lowers the price to go from 20CV to S35VN.

but its a "sprint" run which IMO lends itself to being a safe queen saving it for sale at a later date when its more valuable etc.. while s35vn might say "beater" (which i agree with) the sprint status and full DLC says "dont let me get scratched" honestly you would be better off with the standard version for a beater..(no dlc to wear off)I know I am in the minority, but I don't consider S35VN a downgrade, just different. yeah i bought one too i said what the hell.. a cardboard box isnt gonna know the diff between s35 and 20cvI got the 0609BLK and plan on using. S35V is more than adequate and I like it when black blades get used and abused.
Do a search on YouTube for the 0393. There’s a guy who anodized a bunch of them in different colors.Call me stupid/dumb, but can't you anodize the titanium handle on the original ZT 0393 with 20CV steel to bronze and have yourself a "pseudo" ZT 0393BRZ, or that's not possible because of the G10 overlay to the titanium handle?
Whitty on his site has had anodized verisions of almost all of the recent ZT models. He had 393 cv 20 that was close to the Brz color with some purple thrown in and one with alight blue. I am betting that we will see more colors. Do not know if he takes orders. Have not pulled the trigger on any of them yet , came really close a couple of times.Do a search on YouTube for the 0393.
