Zero Tolerance: Does that weight bother anybody?

Dang, you'd think a blade that big would come with one...
The 0350 is the size of a Kershaw Blur. It's not that big, seriously you guys.

If you NEED a sheath--pick one up from TAD or maxped or Eagle for like $12

Yes they're about the best survival/wilderness knife that you can get--the 0500 (MUDD) is the best one for downright dirty work though. I took mine to Honduras and beat the crap out of my 0500 and it asked for more!:D

I wouldn't take it that far... I would think that most full tang fixed blade knives would probably be a better choice. They may be the best for folding knives, but they are still limited by the fact that they are not one solid piece of metal.

Nope:grumpy:

It's a "pocket knife". They don't usually come with sheaths. Here's a pic of the 0350 next to a Millie.

It weighs about 1.6 oz more than a Millie (5.8 v 4.2).

I am very tolerant of weight in an EDC but the 030x series was just too much combined with the footprint so I sold all mine and I had two 0200's (one was a KF version) and three 030X's *(each color). I've decided I'm good up to 6 oz max if the knife isn't too large real estate-wise.

It's certainly heavier than my Sm. Seb, but it carries very well. I just got back from a walk with the dog and it felt no different in pocket than does my Sm. Seb. No, I wouldn't be carrying it in dress pants, but I don't think this knife, nor any of the ZT line, was ever intended for suit&tie functions:).

FWIW, I carry the 0200 everyday and I really don't mind the weight. Don't even notice it's there. I would think most knives hover around 4 ounces, so stick two in one pocket and walk around a bit, see how it feels.

I had a ZT 200 but traded it because, for the size of the blade, I thought it was too thick and heavy. Also, the stubby design made it a fairly short knife although the blade is 4" long. I happily carry my CS large Espada, Rajah, 6" Ti-lite and Spartan as well as my Sog 5" elite folders and my BM Rukus, because, although these are all fairly heavy, the reach these folders offer, easily makes it worth my while.

Played with a 350 today, it seemed alright. Not something I could carry in dress pants, but a pair of looser jeans would work just fine.

It just felt so right in the hand, I'm picking up one with my first paycheck of my internship :)

Welli think I might be adding a 0350 to the collection. I am considering it in combo edge for the fact that it will primarily be used as an outdoor type camp knife and will probably be cutting a lot of line and rope. Thoughts?

Personally, I don't think you'll be disappointed. If you do decide to buy one and use it for a while, a review (with pics) would be great.

I'm no sissy...I EDC a ZT0200...One of the fancy bead-blasted versions.

After having tried several different EDCs, all folders (Native, Junkyard Dog II, Dragonfly, carried a PT CC for a little, other various Spyderco's) I stumbled upon the 350. Hadn't really paid much attention to ZT's as I do think the 300's are a little too big/heavy/bulky to get away with carry in an office (and don't even think about pulling it out in front of someone) but I'm glad I decided to check back.

The 350 is about as close as I've found to my ideal EDC: Offers tip up carry, discrete clip, flat ground blade, thick enough tip to do some prying, good steel (s30v is good, would have preferred a d2 though), thick liners which i prefer over a frame lock (aesthetically and structurally) and most of all a good size. Small enough to carry comfortably and use without drawing attention, big enough to do what you need and God help you defend yourself if need be. Everyone thinks this is a huge blade but only because it's got a nice wide blade and performs like a bigger knife. Really, it's smaller than the Junkyard Dog II and just a hair bigger than the native. Most importantly, it's around $100!!! Let's be honest, if you going to spend more than a hundred bucks on a knife, it better be a fixed blade or gun.

Yes there are better knives out there. I'm was a big Spyderco fan and to be honest if I could find a Paramilitary in D2 I'd grab it, but in Spydercos infinite wisdom they only made a sprint run, just like all they're good knives. Also, they only make a handful of styles in the US and I think I'm done supporting a company that makes most it's money from asian stuff. Striders, Emerson, CRK are awesome too, but like I said, I'm not paying 300+ for a folder.

My 301 seems to feel less big every time I pick it up.
I'd carry it all of the time if I wasn't around so many fearful people.
The weight feels good to me, I actually prefer a more hefty EDC.
There was a saying among backpackers.
"You need weight (a heavier, more stout pack) to carry weight." The light weight freaks had more gear issues on extended outings than the packers who went for strength and reliability.
Love my smaller EDC's, but the 301 is made for hard work.
The weight is a non issue for me.

me - my 2 cents
