Zero Tolerance knives what is all the hype?

I guess I really like ZTs. I just pre ordered the 0652CF.

You mean 0562CF, right? I bet your excited. That's probably the nicest looking one coming out this year. Well, the 0392 comes to mind haha.

Where did you preorder from?

I saw some nice pix of the black washed zt560bw over on the Usual forum. Broke down and finally ordered one. The textured Ti side always looked too bright. The Black wash really tones it down.

Congratulations. To my way of thinking, you ordered the knife that should have won the 2014 Overall Knife of the Year award!!! I'm still amazed that Rick let ZT build a knife that appears to be in direct competition to the 3.5" XM-18. But I'm sure it must have penciled out or he wouldn't have done it.

Thank you. What swayed and motivated me was: I like ZT. The knife seems like an RH XM-18 Slicer, and the M390 Steel. The CF was not a motivator; just a cherry on top.

I fully expect this to be the most interesting release of the year and I'll probably end up buying one. But I want to wait for the reports to come in before I do. I'll be particularly interested in hearing what the guys who own both an 0562CF and a 3.5" XM-18 Slicer have to say.

That's the exact reason I changed my order to the BW version. I wanted to go regular with the 560 but something about that somewhat shiny 3D machined titanium bothered me. So I went with BW...again ;)

There's some good 4th of July discounts out there. I could have saved $10 on my knife if I remembered what week this was. Good time to buy if you're on the fence.

I've had lots of cheap knives in my life, but I'm older and hopefully wiser now. I've reached a point in my life when I can splurge on some of the better things. This Christmas I was in a quandary as to what to get my best friend. She is a craftsperson working in a large factory. I bought us a matching pair of 0770 aluminum knives. Sometimes in our work we abuse our tools. She loves the knife as do I. One of the great gifts she will love so much more than a gift card. I like the knife so much that that I bought a ZT0770CFM390. My reasoning was simple. Star Wars was opening again and I needed something to take on light sabers.

On a different note I've only held one Spyderco. I don't recall the model because it was years ago, but the spider hole was very sharp to my thumb. It must have been a cheaper model or a knock off. Spoiled me from Spyders ever since. At the time thumb studs were the rage. Turns out I like flippers. You choose to like what you like. I like ZT. It doesn't even have to be logical. It is what it is. But if you are my age you will remember when Japanese was cheap stuff. Never mind China or Taiwan. Troybilt reminds me of what the ZTs represent. There old tillers had cast iron gearboxes. They were amazing examples of American quality, which use to mean overbuilt over engineered tough as nails stuff. I guess I like ZT because it reminds me of that time and quality.

my apologies for resurrecting a year old thread. Maybe 2 in the morning isn't a good time to post.
