I have been eyeing a 0550BW but only find then at one place BladeHq, and wonder if the Stonewashed Black Finish last, or hold up with use?
The BladeForums.com 2024 Traditional Knife is ready to order! See this thread for details:
https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/bladeforums-2024-traditional-knife.2003187/
Price is $300 $250 ea (shipped within CONUS). If you live outside the US, I will contact you after your order for extra shipping charges.
Order here: https://www.bladeforums.com/help/2024-traditional/ - Order as many as you like, we have plenty.
From what has been told, the Blackwash on most of the knives is actually the DLC coating that has been tumbled. So, it will be tough, but since the coating has already been degraded (on purpose) there is less of the DLC to resist scratches.I have been eyeing a 0550BW but only find then at one place BladeHq, and wonder if the Stonewashed Black Finish last, or hold up with use?

The perfect marriage of beauty, beast and badassery: that's what makes ZT special.

Hey Quiet, I've seen you do this a couple of times lately. Just wanted to say it is refreshing to see someone take responsibility and show a bit of humility. Good on you! This would be a lot more pleasant forum if more folks followed your example. Anyway, it's not just you...I have to clean up behind myself too. (More than I would like). I guess in a perfect world I would just never be a dick but the world isn't perfect and neither am I.Best I can do is to be accountable.
I try to keep in mind on this forum that I'm talking to actual people, not just names on a screen. Sometimes I'll fire off a comment, and not run it through the "Are people going to think you're a jerkbag when they read this?" filter. And if I've made that mistake, like you said, I feel that it's the right thing to do to tell whomever I was addressing "Ok, look, that came out wrong, sorry about that." As an adult, there's nothing wrong with admitting you were wrong. I do my best to keep that in mind.
You don't have to worry about me, brother. I already know you're a jerkbag![]()

I just ordered my first ZT, an 0801. Initially there was something about the general ZT look that didn't click for me, and I prefer a smaller/lighter EDC knive. After a while though, I found that there was something about the 0801 that kept catching my attention. Pictures of it seemed to keep showing up in the threads I would visit, but I would try to write it off as too large. I looked through the ZT line to see if there were any smaller knives that I found interesting, but nothing had the same appeal as the 0801. Well I finally decided to pull the trigger (press the flipper?) and should have it soon.
I am a little concerned though, since my Spyderco addiction started in a similar manner. "They are a little odd looking, but maybe I'll just try one..."
