I sent my zt0550 first gen in for a warranty repair since the lockup was at about 95% even after i used the old frame lock centering trick.

I DID leave my custom scale on it and included the factory scale with it if they wanted to put the factory on it.( I did leave notes that I at least wanted the custom scale back)

Zero Tolerance fixed the lock up, replaced all the screws since they were scratched up a bit, replaced the pocket clip even though there was nothing wrong with it, re- stropped the blade since it was already razor sharp, replaced the LBS since it was scratched and last but not least; Zero Tolerance RE-FINISHED the custom scale. Thats right, a scale that had nothing to do with them and was a simple desert camo acrylic scale that had some wear on it since it was originally polished to a mirror but had a deep scratch running down it from when I dropped it.

How awesome is that? Zero Tolerance really is a model company for me, They went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with their product.

That's pretty awesome, H.K.!

I too had a very positive experience dealing with ZT, after sending my ZT 0550 in for an adjustment, & a blade sharpening request. IMO, ZT provides both excellent customer service, & service warranty work. As long as you follow their basic instructions, there should be no problems at all.

It's much more refreshing, reading a positive experience about a knife company...thanks for sharing!

Nothing about your situation surprises me. They make an awesome product and stand behind it. On top of that, they seem to be real knife folks, so they treated you like they'd like to be treated. Very awesome.

That's good to know, I've got a 551 and a 1.5 gen 550 that I don't use much. They even correct stupid for free. Have a blur that I thought I would adjust the thumb lugs. They had just started putting the lugs parallel with the blade closed. I was used to them being cocked down and decided to adjust them. Yeah, that didn't work out. Called them, explained what I did and sent it in. Two weeks later got the knife back with a new unmarked blade, no charge. that's why I do have a few Kershaw/ZT knives.

great people over there at kershaw/zt. Top notch. I can say they usually go above and beyond what you request and replace everything. That's why they will always have a returning customer in me.

I've never been disappointed by Kershaw/ ZT. Whether it was a cheap Thermite, or a Rake, or even my ZT 301, they always make sure the customer is happy. What really blows me away is how quickly I receive parts from them, seeing as I'm in Ontario Canada, and they're on the west coast of the USA. Usually priority mailed out and I get the stuff I asked for, and more every time, within a week. I only wish they sent our replacement scales for the 3xx series. I'd love a new, stock scale for my 301.

ZT really stands behind their products, and guarantees return customers. I'm one!

Awesome!

That is a great experience for sure.

Do you have any pictures of the knife? You have me curious now. ;^)

Talk about going above and beyond! ZT definitely has one of the very best warranty, repair and customer service out there.

I hadn't checked this thread in a while and didn't realize you wanted a pic. Here you go!

Nice knife. I started to mention my zt550, which is my current work knife, in my last email but deleted it because I thought I was blathering. Anyways, my 550 gets abused at work and besides needing the edge touched up it is still in newish condition. I am going to buy a replacement since it has been discontinued, I like it that much.

In my experience , ZT s service is outstanding. It adds to the desirability of their knives.

Would ZT be able to repair some minor chips in my 0550 blade or would they be more likely to replace it?
