Any information on this guy? I see that it's limited, but any idea how many are available? Similar to the CF or BRWCF?

Scooped one from KC, as I love the CF and love the look on this guy. Plus, if they're limited like the others, they will become quite valuable pretty quickly!

"Zero Tolerance and custom knifemaker Todd Rexford join forces to produce the Zero Tolerance 0801BRZ. It starts with a blade of M390 powdered steel. This steel enables ZT to produce a blade with a razor edge, excellent edge retention, strength, and toughness. A stonewashed blade finish hides hard-use scratches and makes maintenance easier.

The newly designed 0801 handle is lightweight and durable titanium with machined windows for lighter weight and a great look. The titanium handle features a secure frame lock. The blade deploys using the built-in flipper. Just pull back on the flipper and the razor-sharp M390 blade rotates out of the handle on ZT’s glass-smooth KVT ball-bearing system. No springs required; just simple, one-handed opening. Easy. The 0801BRZ pocketclip is designed for deep carry and is reversible for left- or right-handed carry. Decorative pivot hardware completes the 0801BRZ's handsome look.

Nice, I just ran across that one. I don't dislike my s110 801 but to me it's a little too handle heavy, well heavy isn't the right word but the balance is very offset toward the handle, so perhaps the cutouts would help a bit with that. I'm a big proponent of more grip on CF/Ti handles so the extra grooves milled into the frame are a very welcome addition. It's also a great versitile blade shape.

Seems ZT is shifting a bit to bringing out more variations in handle/blade steel than they have previously and that's a good thing. I also just noticed the 630 M390 today, though it seems the 620 is being discontinued.
 
Is the half hexagonal/half decorative pivot of the 0801BRZ just on the 0801BRZ, or was it also on later examples of the production 0801? I ask because I have an early 0801 with a pivot with two decorative sides, and I have experienced some loosening.

All the previous models of the 0801 series that I've seen had the decorative pivot on both sides. On the 0801BRZ both pivot screws look different.
 
KSF is down to just 11 in stock now from around 30 just over an hour ago!
 
Just got mine and very happy with it. Luckily, it looks like the original pictures, not the KSF ones.

This is my 5th 0801, and I think my favorite.
 
There is something very Duane Dwyer-esque about the ti scales, not sure if I am hot or cold to it. The one thing I do like about this version is the satin/stonewash blade and the fixed pivot. M390, I am sorta indifferent on. I was quite happy/pleased with ZT's later runs of Elmax and the rumors of an S35VN version has me holding out for the next production run of the 801 (assuming the rumors are true).

The last production models of the ZT 0801 series (0801 and 0801BW) were supposed to move from Elmax to S35VN based on the 2016 ZT Catalog. However, a few months ago the production ZT 0801 were discontinued. So, it doesn't look like we'll see them in S35VN.

Lucky that yours arrived and the colors are not funky! Mine is stuck in USPS Twilight Zone with no activity since it was shipped on Friday although it's at a USPS location.

These ZT/Rexford 0801 series have been well received with quite a few models:

Really?!? I hope they have something else in the works as the ZT0801 is one of the best production flippers readily available.
 
just dropped on BHQ, seems as though each ZT dealer is getting 30? Mine is on the way, and I can't wait. Kind of like a custom 0801 for $240, plus high-end steel

ZT 0801 series production models were discontinued end of May and 0801/0801BW went on sale for nearly 40% off MSRP instead of the usual 20% off (MAP). You can still find them at the discontinued price.

With limited production capacity, items get discontinued if they don't sell to make room for others that do or for new items.

loved my zt0801bw an was sad i sold it to fund something else, it was ment to be i just ordered mine from BHQ

I think the fact that there was already so many iterations, limited or otherwise, is why they've discontinued this model now. Everyone that wants one, has probably already gotten one.

That said, I did go ahead and order a 801BRZ the second I found them on US dealer's sites. KSF's photos where it shows up very bright gold must have been after some Windex was used to clean oil off the handles. Personally, I would never have bought it if it were the bright, shiny gold. Much prefer the muted, dark bronze.
