Zero Tolerance ZT 0801BRZ

Mine is on its way...

I'm seriously considering a blade swap with a BW or black blade. The satin blade finish is gorgeous in photos, but I hate how it shows scratches ... and I have a thing for brown or bronze & black knives! (I know it'd be a step down in steel, but ZT's Elmax has treated me very, very well.)

Any one else considering such blaspheme? I'll post pics if I pull it off.

+1 Oddly enough, I was considering the same thing this morning. I have a 0801BW with bronze standoffs. Seems we like the same kinds of 0801 things. Please post pics, even for just a temporary experiment.

How do you like that 0804cf I feel it may be a little too big, I mean the 0801 is perfect size for me and think that the 0804cf is just going to be massive and bulkier

The 804cf is bigger, i cant say what is too big or not for you, but i love it. if they made it a tad shorter by a few milimiters and didnt do the black blade it would be perfect, otherwise i love it, its so smooth, way smoother than the 801. probably has to do with the smaller kvt (caged) bearings.

They are about the same size give or take, I didn't take measurements. I was in a rush and didn't take a photo of the blades out. Guessing the 804cf blade is longer, I forget the measurements.

804cf is slightly longer blade and scales. But as you can see in the picture its hard to tell. The width is very close to each other.
Brz was 240$ but I doubt you will find them for sale for that anymore since they are sold out now. While the 804cf is 280$ msrp and not limited production. I got mine cheaper, I can't remember exactly but between 200-250$
The brz looks more office friendly while the 0804cf is more gentleman's tactical.

ebay has buy it now prices around $220 at this moment. i cant comment on any sellers, but ive had good luck finding good items thus far. always a possibility to run into issues tho.

I got my 0801BRZ today. It's so much easier to open than my 801BW. What's up with that? Is it a BW thing (several 801BW reviews mentioned it), or just a general risk with 801s?

Mine's arrived... sorry Mambro, I don't think I can bring myself to make the blade swap! It's too gorgeous as-is. Seriously, I normally find the satin polish blades a little "too pretty" for my tastes, but it's a great match here for the bronze (and looks great shining through the holes in the handle scales).

One thing about this knife: I think the chamfering hasn't been praised enough. This knife feels way slimmer & sleeker in the hand/pocket because of that, I'd say... absolutely love it, it's a home run.

Forgive the non-ZT content, I included a silver handle to help show color contrast. These pics are fairly accurate, color-wise... maybe just a hair darker than in real life. I

I love my 0804cf. I like it more then my 0801BRZ and the regular 0801.
the 0804 is a large knife but not too large IMO. when you line up the pivots on the 0801 and the 0804cf, the 0804 is about 0.5" longer. and about 0.75" longer overall. the 0804cf is actually lighter because of the carbon fiber scale.

in the end they are both awesome knives, i think you will be happy with either one....or both the 0804cf is the better knife in my opinion. its just F&^#ING awesome
