How about something similar to the Spetsnaz Machete?

The blade shape and size look good even though it could be a tad bit longer, also I have heard the handle design is a bit of a female dog.

zombies don't care about stabbing.

Zombies are only killed by brain trauma, therefor the most efficient bladekill would be a stab thru eye socket, i.e Western rapier, not Jap cut.

A knife for walkers is like using one for a bear attack. Too risky IMHO. Maybe the Nessmuk trio could come into play. A hatchet or hawk (spike end) to punch through the skull then some working blades for those down hours during the Z apocalypse.

When is a rapier with a 41" blade considered a knife? The only knife I've recommended was a 13" dirk

Combined with spiked targe shield & basket hilted broadsword, a lethal combo. Jab stab hit. Just don't mention Culloden

& the longest bladed spears still in use

Id say something on the heavier side and thick but sharp with a well constructed, comfortable handle with a lot of grip if hes anything like me! Also, full tang.
