ZT 0350 in ZDP189?

i thought that the company that makes ZDP189 didnt export it.

i guess the kershaw mafia did a good job of persuading them......
The Mafia has it's connections. From what I know, the Kershaw solid ZDP offerings (past & present) are the only ones produced at this time (well you could throw in the Acies that we built for A.G. Russell).

Rc on these is 62-64

ZDP thickness was identical to the standard 0350.

H.L. Dalis was the exclusive distributor.

It's amazing what a simple please and a gentle tap to a kneecap with a baseball bat
will get you. :D
;)

I came, I saw, I ordered. I've been throwing around the notion of picking up a ZT0350 which by itself it's a heck of a knife, but this seems like it's gonna be something even more special. Can't wait!

Ah yes, I find myself always responding from a factory point of view. From where I sit, the piece is undervalued.

Yea I am not saying its not a good price kershaw and zts are always well priced, I was just saying for the 112 bucks shipped you can get the s30v version for I would personally just go for that

That's one way to look at it.

The ZDP's will be much more collectable, and IMO, for a user, will significantly outperform S30V in edge retention. Ultimately, it's up to each person to gauge which purchase makes more sense.

So these ended up being composite blades? I just ordered 3 of them from bladehq, and at least on that site they are composite.

How does that work for ZDP, since Hitachi won't send it out unless they have heat treated it? How do you bond it to the carriage steel without ruining the HT?

There is a composite blade, but they first came out in a solid/black blade, either plain edge or combo edge. I bought the combo edge.

There are two different 0350's with ZDP, both were H.L. Dalis exclusives, one has a solid ZDP189 black blade, mod # 0350ZDPCKT , the other is a composite blade, stonewashed, model # 0350CBZDP

Solid ZDP Blades, DLC Coating.

I'll have exact counts soon, but the PO called for 350 plain edge, 150 Combo's. We should be close to these #'s.

All are serialized.

I guess I am not articulating my question very well. I am well aware of the post you quoted, that is was instilled confusion in me. I haven't see the solid ZDP blade anywhere, just composites.

I remember that quote, that is why I was confused when I saw the composite blade ZDP 0350s. When he says "combo" he is referring to partially serrated, not composite steel.

I got the stonewashed composite version. Should be here tomorrow. :)

Black blades are full ZDP....Thomas posted the part number above....they are higher priced.

I have been thrashing one for a while now and very impressed with the edge retention....cut up a few cole cans yesterday and still sharp as hell.

Awesome! I hope the composite blades are ran as hard as the full stock ones. I absolutely love ZDP when it's around 64-65. Awesome stuff.
