Zt 0392 blu bowie

I think ZT should just make the 0392 a standard model. I would literally own several if they did. The specific LT itself though? It's nice. I'm not a massive bowie fan, but I'd happily carry the thing if I owned it.

I like the Bowie style blade and the blue with the polished hardware is also nice -

I have the original 392 with the normal eclipse style blade, and that is a very good, usable knife.

I look forward to the Bowie, but I am a ZT fan so....

best

Yeah, I'm with you. I actually do like the design of the 0392 but I'm not one for colorful knives... So a standard "working" color scheme like standard production models would be awesome. I do think some of the iterations have been much better, colorwise, than others.

Scoured the ZT site and my known informational sites, but to no avail...
Anyone have a link or a pic available?

I've only recently got into the Zero Tolerance knives but I'm definitely hooked. This LE looks great to me. I do wish it was a wharncliffe but the Bowie will do . I'm going to try to get in on this one

ZT 0392BLUBOWIE will be the 7th iteration in the ZT 0392 series and the first with a Bowie style blade. These are well worth it at the $400 price level on the primary market (each model had about $150 worth of genuine Hinderer hardware) and the last model 0392PURBLKWC took a while to sell out. There have been four Skinners and two Wharnies thus far. The series would've been a lot more successful with different blade shapes for each model and less polarizing color schemes. Hinderer has/had quite a few blade shapes: Skinner, Wharncliffe, Bowie, Tanto, Spanto, Slicer, Spearpoint, Harpoon and various other hybrids. Thus far, my two favorite color schemes are the first two but I prefer a Wharnie blade for EDC.

From top to bottom:

  1. 0392
  2. 0392BWBRZ
  3. 0392BRNGLD
  4. 0392BLKGRN
  5. 0392WC
  6. 0392PURBLKWC

I thinkk this one just compares head on with the XM Bowie, for the price point I just would rather buy the Xm bowie, and I did, I guess this one is made towardsthe hardcore zt fans and zt collectors, I just dont see a diference like the 0999 to justify not getting the hinderer bowie, besides that its a really beautiful knife, and for once I really dig the colors

Most people forget that an all titanium Hinderer XM/Eklipse adds $200 to the price of a Hinderer and Hinderers have inferior flipper action, blade steel, washers, etc. I have two XMs and never use them. I hear the latest MP-1 and Half-Track are much better in every way but very pricey.

Some of the best ZT LE knives are classic showpieces and thus somewhat impractical. The 0392 series are imminently useable and practical albeit the colors on some very polarizing.

Looks good. Really like the 'Bowie' blade and the shape of the handle.

As for the comparison to the 999. Id take the 'Blu' over the 999 recently mentioned any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

It looks good and vastly better than the fugly 999.

Nice Collection RamZar, they look awesome!!!!!! My MP-1 is a great flipper, and great fit and finish but you're right, it was $695

I really need to track down the original stonewashed/blue version. Been lusting after that one for a while.

I think that as the blade shape goes, it looks fantastic, if you take the grandfather of all the buck 110 and its gorgeous bowie blade, this one is as close as it gets IMO

I take it you dont much care for SOG knives either then?:)

(referring to the 'humps' in the blade spine).

I actually like clip point blades but they have to be done right. Sog for example is doing great job (SOG Super Bowie for example) or Buck 110, 119 all great looking knives. Benchmade Crooked River comes to mind as another excellent design as something more modern or even xm18 from Rick Hinderer all great looking knives. But this ZT is just plain ugly. I think it is in proportions.

ZT NEEDS TO MAKE THIS A REGULAR PRODUCTION MODEL...

It would drop the 400 dollar price, it would actually make them more money in the long run. Plus they could still make LE with the different blade grinds/colors.

Just have a base model in Elmax or Cts204p with CF handle just like half of the other ZT line
