ZT 0454 trade opinion

I dunno..... with that trade you're basically paying $750 for a 454. How badly do you want it?
 
This happened with the 0777 damascus. People said $500 was a lot for it, same with 0888, now try to get a 0777 Damascus for $2k, the seller will laugh at you.

I personally think the 0454 owner is getting the bad side of the deal. 0801cf is available and I don't see it going over $450 in value. There are just too many varieties and mods available. The 0454 is the same as 0777, 0888.

Plus the 0454 is a sick knife and I could not be more impressed with mine.
 
Think we are doing the deal, going to ride by his house this morning. Ill just have to replace the 0801CF for my LE collection when I get some money
 
I would do that deal for sure. The 0454 looks amazing and I think it will be very hard to find in the future, unless you are prepared to pay a hefty premium. I love the 801 series as well that would be the hardest one for me to give up. Good thing I have 2, so if you don't make the deal let me know your friends contact info and I will make that deal. Or PM me I can sell you my extra 0801cf
 
I can see it from both sides. I'd have traded, like you. Not having a 454 in-hand makes me want one very, very much.

BUT, if I had one in-hand, I can see the desire for those 3 great knives, all of which will be excellent users (if you could stomach the fact of getting the 801CF dirty), plus look extremely cool. I couldn't justify a pretty knife sitting in a box somewhere.

On the other hand, I have never kept a knife in pristine condition, ever, so even if I had the 454, I'd have to use it, and suffer the consequences of looking extremely cool, while doing so.:cool:
