I just noticed that the ZT 0551 is missing from the Kniveworks website catalog where I have ordered and pre-paid for this knife some time ago. Does anyone know of anything new happening? Have too many shops over-extended themselves with the pre-orders for this particualr knife? I don't have any intention of bashing Knifeworks, they are in fact my #1 go-to store for all of my knife purchases. Cheers.

I have a pre-order in for the ZT 0551 at KW too. The order still shows up in my order history (the status is listed as "PRE-ORDERED"). My guess is that they took the listing down because the number of pre-orders had reached the number they expected to receive. They've done the same thing with their listings for other limited run knives (for example, the exclusive M4/Ti Millie), so assuming you got your pre-order in a while ago, I doubt there's any cause for concern.

I assume the same as the other posters here. Knife works is top notch & I totally trust them to deliver as promised when ZT finishes the next shipment.

I also have a preorder in with Knifeworks. i agree with others rationale for there being no electronic website representation any longer. I notice only ZT 550 there now.

I emailed Roger, who Emailed me right back, in Knifeworks Inc. normal A+++ customer service and got this response.

"Right now, we do not have a date, I would hope it will not be much longer, I wish I could give you a better answer."

That is good enough for me. :thumbup:They will be here soon, it is not like we have anything to worry about, except our anticipation of ownership of this blade.

For me the last blade I want which I cant stomach paying for is a Hinderer XM 18 with aftermarket prices such as they are. Every time I save to have that coin, another blade/s comes along, like, HEST/F, Sage 3 Sprint Run anything, this one, etc.

I feel though this is not a true XM 18 quality, I know Kershaw and have read the reviews to know it will be an awesome hard use keeper for sure when we get it.:)

I am not surprised or upset. Rick makes these to fill hands of front line ER personnel and military. It is perhaps the purest form of dedication I have seen from a KM.

He makes a few for retailers and they love the supply demand curve. I just know its a $300 knife and cant make it happen for me yet.

If I held one for an hour I might change my mind. $600 requires a knife for me to be unique and custom. So far I haven't spent that money. Perhaps after a divorce, which if i keep spending the way I am is coming!;)

As far as the ZT 0551 is concerned, they are still available through some vendors. Maybe not the traditional channels, but they are there.
