ZT 0551 questions.

One of the more interesting and useful 0551 threads. Thanks.

Does anyone have side-by-side photos of the ZT and Superleaf?

Anybody else waiting on their ZT0551? I pre-ordered mine from knifecenter back in November. I emailed them and they told me sometime in February. Everybody seems to like the knife. I'm looking very forward to getting mine.

Still waiting on mine too from Knifecenter. I was able to get one from Kershawguy but I also ordered one from Knifecenter. Hope it gets here soon.

really enjoy the blade, but can anyone recommend someone that can make a different g10 for the 0551?

thanks

Mine is back in Tualatin having some lock up issues fixed. ZT has been very good with CS. I got a call from Cheryl in CS stating that they recieved my knife today.

In the interim I'll be carrying my trusty SMF. 4 years and not a hitch.

Can anyone point to where I migth be able to find a ZT0551?

So far I have one seen them on ebay here and there.

It would be nice to find one at a retailer and not just someone off ebay.

Thanks!

All dealers are waiting for shipments. There are none in stock.

And if you're not already on a waiting list, you will probably be out of luck.

So, the 2nd round of 0551's will be leaving the factory early next week, so they will be street bound soon.

Wanted to update my experience with ZT customer service.

I sent my 0551 via USPS Priority on Monday 2/7. Received a call from Cheryl in CS on 2/9 that my knife was in their shop.

UPS man just dropped off my repaired ZT0551 a few minutes ago. It runs as it should, blade is perfectly centered and action is very smooth with no lock bar/blade play issues. The only way I could have done it faster was to drive down myself! Thanks Cheryl and ZT Customer Service....

Wow!! What a great turnaround time. I may have to send mine in as it's developed a tad of vertical blade play. Good to know they are quick.

I get mine wed. Hope mines ok. Didn't know they were having problems.

Mine was fixed easily by bending the lock bar in a little more. It seems to be a very common problem with frame lock knives as they wear in.

Just tried that about 5 minutes ago. I bent the lockbar enough that I thought it might break and it made no real difference. :(

The lockbar just seemed to snap back to its original position when I bent it. The bend didn't seem to stick. Hope that makes sense.
