ZT 0560/0561 or ZT0630. Which one to buy and why?

Out of the three options my vote goes to the 0630. I noticed you asking about its tip in another thread and can assure you that it is strong, reinforced and pointy. My lockup has remained consistent during very heavy use and the handle is equally comfortable in both forward and reverse grips. I'm sure the 0560 is an awesome knife as well but find the 0630 a refreshing option in a sea of ZT drop points that doesn't sacrifice practicality for looks.

Do you know when 0560/0561 first had steel inserts used in their lockbars? any idea of the year?

I think that just started earlier this year. Even if you get a 0560 without the insert, you'll be fine. It'll still lock up securely. And if you do manage to wear it down, you can send it in to ZT, and they'll fix it for you. The most noticeable difference I've experienced with the steel insert is that during the first couple of weeks of usage (until it wears in), you won't have the sticky lock symptom.
