ZT 0561-- Thumbstud issue

I use thumbstuds on my 561, 301 and 350. It might seem difficult and perhaps a bit painful at first, but it should smooth out.

I can open my 560 just fine from the thumbstuds. Its not comfortable though because my fingers want to occupy the same real estate as the pocket clip.

Just got a got a zt 0561 and can easily use the the thumb stud. But then again I have pretty big hands so that helps. My knife has a different problem and its really annoying its off center to the left about 1-2 mm I got it off eBay, any ideas on how I should fix it?

Mine was very easy to open with the thumbstud but the lockbar had to be pryed out to disengage. So I sent it back to ZT. I wonder if after they carbidize the lock and mess around with it if it will still be easy to open with the thumbstud.

My 561 just sits there. Won't say a word to me. I don't think it likes me. Either that, or it's just stuck up.

The 0560 / 0561 are set up with a strong detent from the factory so that they function best as a flipper. There is some variation from knife to knife, so some of them can be opened with the thumbstud/stop pin, but some of them will be near impossible to open with the stud. If this is a dealbreaker for you, I would recommend trying the knife out in person or explaining this to the dealer who sells you the knife.

This is not a defect in the knife, it is simply the way we tune them at the factory.
