ZT 0562 gap between G10 and stainless liner

I recently picked up a brand new ZT 0562 and I noticed there is a small gap between the G10 scale and the stainless steel liner around the middle of the handle. If you squeeze them together, the gap disappears, but when you release, it bounces back.
I am guessing the stainless steel liner is not flat/straight? or could it be the G10 that is slightly deformed?
Any thoughts?
I am probably gonna return it..

My thoughts are that you should return it to the retailer you bought it from for a different and hopefully problem free 0562 OR send it in to ZT/Kai; their customer service should take good care of you.

Either way, I wouldn't disassemble it to find out. Just contact them with a phone call, and send it in.

This isn't the type of issue you want them to say You could have caused.

Is this really an issue...can't see it affecting knife function. Most likely tolerance stack, it can happen and I would suspect it in the g10 scale where a screw holes in off just smidge. IMO use it and don't look back.

Are you positive it's not a counterfeit?
Where was it purchased
My first thought was also that it could be a fake. It's one of the signs for the 0562 fakes.

I bought it from Amazon, but I am very positive that this is not a fake one because I compared it to the one from my friend who bought it from Knifecenter.
I have already returned it back to Amazon...
Just curious and technically speaking, if the G10 scale and the stainless steel liner do not fit seamless together, is it more like that the G10 is deformed/curved, or is it the stainless steel liner being not 100% flat?

Get your money back and buy from an actual knife dealer like the ones that support this forum. What ever little difference in price there might be (though with map there should be no price difference) will be well worth it. You can request that an actual knife dealer inspect the knife for you to make sure there are no problems. You will never get that type of service from a big box dealer.

Agreed.

This is the only response you should heed......period.
Every supporting dealer here will inspect the knife for you. It will be a worry free transaction and you will be completely satisfied.
There are so many threads here on problems buying from Amazon it is ridiculous.
Return it and order from an actual dealer.
Check out USAmadeblades. You can get a 562 anodized for no additional cost.
At least check out the web site.

I know the benefits of buying from actual dealers..
since I already returned the knife, actually right now I just wanna discuss about the physical properties of G10 and stainless steel...like I mentioned, if, say if, the G10 scale and the stainless steel liner do not fit/stack seamlessly together, theoretically/technically speaking, is it more like that the G10 is deformed/curved, or is it the stainless steel liner being not 100% flat? As far as I know, G10 is not pliable, so it means that it is probably the stainless steel liner being deformed?
Again, I know WE SHOULD ALWAYS BUY FROM ACTUAL DEALERS!!!! and I am not arguing anything about that....

No clue. If I had to guess I'd put my money on the steel. So are you getting another one from the big river? There's also a chance of getting a fake as they are out there of this model.

I am getting one from knifecenter, but i think they dun have anymore of the G10 ones with Elmax steel..

That's good to hear. Like kniferbro said, shop around. One of the supporting dealers will have one and they will make sure it is right.

Well, I actually checked several dealers and they are all selling zt0562 (G10) with S35vn now, and this was the main reason why I purchased that one from Amazon since they still have some old stocks left. So is the Elmax a lot better than S35vn?
