I just received my new 0562 cf its a very attractive knife but it seems stiff to open all the reviews said out of box was perfect. It could be me its my first frame lock and I did notice if you put any pressure on the lock it doesn't open so it could be me just not using it right.anyone have similar experience. I thought maybe ilthe pivot was to tight but if u take pressure off lock bar the blade moves freely

My 0562 was perfectly fine when I got it. You just have to get used to not putting pressure on the lock bar when opening the knife. When you put pressure on a framelock, you are actually pushing the detent ball into the detent, causing you to not be able to open the knife.

Your first ZT and frame lock--congratulations. [emoji1]

Is your 562 brand new? If it is it may need some break in time. You also may need some break in time.

Try holding the knife this way:

Index finger like this:

Push down do not pull back.

You also may have a strong detent. The detent usually gets better with use. Many of us like a firm detent because the blade fires better. Your finger will suffer till you get used to it.

Don't choke up on the knife alot. Put the butt of the knife in your palm and extend you finger to the flippe and fire away.

Thanks eyedog and everyone else.I think I need breking in lol.those pix helped. Yes it's brand new also

Perfectly stated and great pictures EyeDog!

Thanks. Might as well mention the thumb thumb-stud and index flipper combo to help break in strong detent.

To the OP...this style takes some practice but I know a lot of people who use this all the time. Hold knife as in photo 1. But put thumb on the stud and index on the flipper and push thumb stud forward while pushing down on flipper. All at the same time.

I will add to make sure you are light switching the flipper and not just pushing straight in on it! We get some straight out of the box that are a little tight. They always seem to break in perfectly in no time.

The detent on mine was super stiff out of box. I was almost extremely disappointed with it. Then i flipped it 1000 times and now it is absolutely perfect. Just needed to break in.

Hey Scott...did you recognize the 562 in my photos. "light switch" that's a great way to describe it. With the understanding that the index finger is on top of the flipper not in front of it. At least that's what works for me.

There's a fair amount of YouTube videos showing this stuff.

Hope you're up late because biz is doing good.

Practice makes perfect. Falling off the bike your first few times doesn't make it a bad bike.

These. In addition to a brand new frame lock often requiring a break in you'll also need to get used to the new mechanism.
Congrats on your new knife. Use and play with it for a while and it should be great.
Best of luck!

I thought it looked familiar! Business is good but can always be better!

I bought this elsewhere and after the fact i saw i could have gotten a bronze annoed one for same price from you guys..that was a bummer but the kicker was my buddy ordered a 808 from you guys a couple hours later we both ordered Friday his showed up Monday mine just came in today. Both had 2day shipping. I'm kinda over the headquarters

Some of them are harder than others. When we first received a batch of about 24 we had to send 2 back to ZT. They were so stiff out of the box that they would surely get sent back. ZT was very quick to get them fixed up and back to us with a perfect detent adjustment. Granted, with some use they would have loosed up but some people wouldn't want to deal with it. Point being, some may be harder than others but when they are right they are awesome knives. My brother has been carrying one since we got them in.

I wonder if mine needs to go back. It now makes a kinda grinding noise when blade moves and can be downright hard to deploy and I'm not putting pressure on the lock.once free from detent it swings free but grinds a little.
