A quick question. I pre-ordered the ZT 0562cf almost 8 months ago at a very well known knife dealer. But why is the roll out so slow of this beauty? Is ZT slow in the manufacturing proces or is it something else?

Could well be, It's just crap waiting more than seven months and having no estimate when it's coming.

Have you ever known ZT to satisfy demand of a new model in a timely manner? Do you remember how long the 550, 560, 566, and 770 took to come to market and then to where you could regularly find one in stock? It wasn't quickly.

Jup, I know. Luckily I was one of the first to recieve and make a review of the 0566 and 0770 cf. Maybe I just have to forget it and be surprised when I receive it on my doormat :D

Ditch the preorder and grab one when they pop up! Never understood people waiting 6+ months on a preorder to save the $5 down.

Thats the problem, I dont know where to look. All what I've seen is that they are sold out everywhere...

Well, yesterday I just walked into the big Warehouse where all the Sportsmen shop, and picked one up.:D They'd just gotten it in, so maybe a new batch is starting to ship. Well worth the wait and price.

I think that it is more a matter of retailers taking too many pre-orders.

+1

I had a preorder from a certain dealer, and I asked when my order would be fulfilled. They told me I was in line with over 150 people!

I don't understand why some of these dealers take preorders if they can't do simple math right...

"Let's see, well get 20 knives on release day, so I think we'll take 250 preorders..."

Oh some of the do the math all right. Lets see if we take 250 prorders and can only fill 20 and then 150 of the people left bail because they find it in stock somewhere else we get $750 pure profit on canceled preorders that we dont refund the deposit on.

Could be pre-orders, it's certainly been much harder to get the 0620cf/0562cf etc. than it was to get say the 0550/0560 once they started hitting the market. Could be they are working on other things. So far the reality is, they might be a production items, but that doesn't they will ever be available in large numbers.

I'm finally getting mine this week after almost 4 months, on a knife that was supposed to ship in 1-2 weeks!

Did you actually look at that link before you posted it...says "pre order"
Did you actually look at the time I posted and the time YOU posted? 3 hours difference.

I looked at it 2 or 3 times before I pasted the link and they were in stock but must have sold out very soon after I posted the link..

Wouldn't surprise me..If the demand/poularity is high enough I've seen some knives sell out in 30 seconds or less..I'm thinking the 0562cf fits that criteria..

I could have bought one but for some reason I'm not that interested in it so I didn't..

The 0560cbcf does everything I need..

I do know a reason that there may be a small delay. I sent in my 0562CF for a blade replacement when I broke the tip a few weeks ago and they told me that their laser etching guy left the company and it would take a while to train someone new. It might account for a short delay, but a few months I would definitely be looking for a better excuse.

I'm blaming the retailers for taking too many pre-orders. I pre-ordered both the 0562CF and 0180 from one of the very large retailers thinking I would get them sometime around when they started shipping. After several months I ended up getting an 0562CF here in the exchange and a 0180 from a smaller retailer that never took pre-orders and cancelled the pre-orders just last week. For unlimited editions like these I'm willing to bet they take hundreds of pre-orders because they know they'll eventually be able to fill them. I wont be pre-ordering anymore.

This. By now, we should all be expecting a bit of a wait. The knives are always worth it in the end, though.
