ZT 0620 weak detent?

Well I’m now in contact with an Elizabeth Simon who is getting her supervisor in on the deal. Going to send me a shipping label to go directly to her. Hopefully now that I’ve done some...vigorous complaining...it will actually become someone’s individual problem instead of a faceless repair. If this last one doesn’t work my faith in knives just may die.

I’m eager to see if the Leek I sent in is repaired and tuned properly as well. I’ll report back after receipt.

I wonder if the warranty and repair form comments are even read when the knife arrives. It doesn’t seem like it so far.

At any rate, I absolutely appreciate Kai’s offerings.

It honestly seemed like they took mine, flipped it around a bit, decided it was fine and sent it back. I don't guess your actual complaint about the knife isn't read unless you make someone's life inconvenient with sassy emails lol

Getting what I want out of people via email may be the only useful thing I learned in college...

Could you shoot a video showing how easily the 0620 shakes open? Many folders, ZT or not, can be shaken open if one tries hard. I am just wondering why KAI did not easily fix the obvious issue (e.g. by bending the lockbar a bit) if they deemed it an issue.

No you are not. That ZT 0620 has abnormally weak detent that KAI should fix. I'd disassemble it and first check how deep/shallow the detent ball is on the lockbar. If it is too deep, then I'd defer the repair to KAI. If the detent ball sit normally, I'd bend the lockbar inwards incrementally to increase the detent, which is very unlikely to damage the knife.

Ok folks! We all like a story with a happy ending right?

Well it seems like buying American actually does pay off because the third time was the charm. They said that the blade was replaced and if it weren't for the familiar snail trails on the titanium I'd swear it wasn't the same knife.

I like to complain as much as the next guy but I'd say that all in all the process was worth it. My advice for others seeking customer service from ZT, try to have your package earmarked for the individual representative that you have been in contact with if at all possible.
 
Glad to hear it! I’m still waiting for my Leek to be returned. I’ll report back if they fixed it or not.
