Ok, so I'm a ZT fanatic. I own or have owned most models(except for some of the LE stuff). Almost every ZT I have ever owned or handled had nearly perfect blade centering. I have owned or handled more than a dozen 0770CF's.. and I have to say.. what the hell! Almost all of them are off to the right by a little bit. Some of them are way off. I think it's weird that they are always off to the right. Has anyone had a similar experience? I'd say that out of the dozen or so that I've handled that 4 were almost centered, 4 were off enough to bug me, and 4 were so off that I was just disgusted. What's up? Am I crazy or just really unlucky?

No 770, but i have a 0566 with the same problem. I can get the blade in the middle, adjusting the pivot screw, but then the assisted opening doesn't work anymore, so i had to de-assist it^^, doesn't open too smooth, but i hope that improves with opening/closing a lot...

I own both and they are centered.
Impossible that every item in a manufacturing run is going to be perfect but are within "tolerances".
If you believe a knife you bought is out of tolerance or not within your expectations I'd return it to the seller or send it to the manufacturer for a repair or replacement.

Mine came centered, but won't completely center when deassisted.

My 0770cf is perfectly centered, but I haven't taken it apart...my 0350 was perfect until I took it apart to clean, the I couldn't get it to center up...I sent it to Zt and they fixed it right up and sharpend it...

My 0801bw is also perfect, I want to take it apart to clean, but to scared I won't be able to get it centered up and don't want to have to send it in...

I think you should be ok with your 0801. I always said I could put the parts of my 0801 in a bag, shake it around and I would have a perfectly assembled knife. It goes back together well.

I got a 0770 M390 and it's very slightly off center. Mine also rattles a bunch when open. I think it's the assisted spring. I have had multiple assisted kershaws rattle when open. The 0770 feels more Kershaw than ZT to me.

The rattling is very likely the torsion bar. If you're able, you can put some grease on the cavity on the handle that houses the spring. That'll get rid of the rattling. I use a pea-sized drop of white lithium grease and just spread it along where the torsion bar sits. Any grease will work, but I'd recommend something that has a wide temperature tolerance (ie. doesn't solidify when cold or liquify when hot relative to the conditions the knife is likely to see).

I'll post some pics tmw of a few 0770cf's right next to each other.. maybe 5 or 6 of them. The worst two offenders were already returned, but the ones I have go from decent (a tiny bit off) to borderline (almost off enough to send it to ZT). Out of all of the ones I've owned, I've picked a few good ones for trades on the forums, I've removed two to keep for myself, and the one's that are visibly off I will sell on fee-Bay. I'll show you the one's I have left tmw.

It's the tiny washer on the speedsafe side. In my experience speedsafe is hit or miss when it comes to centering. I don't think the tiny washer provides enough support for the blade. Not to mention the CF scale is milled out and is actually quite flexible. Try requesting another hardware set from ZT and putting the large washer on the speedsafe side (assuming you've de-assisted it). Just my $.02
