ZT 0777 M390 Poll: Stonewashed or DLC (Limited)?

Alright some DLC fans! :) I am really excited. I have so many stonewashed blades so a DLC will be nice. I dont like having a knife if I wont carry it. It will see very light use. This will be my go to pulpit knife. If God deserves my best...I might as well carry my best. ;)

In my opinion, $450 (full MSRP) for this knife is a steal. If you can get one for MSRP, I would snap it up and not feel bad at all.

People get really caught up in the pricing and assume that a knife is only worth "X" amount, but I can tell you for a fact that the MSRP on these is way too low for what you're getting. I won't say that for everything, but in this case I will shout it from the rooftops. Quite frankly, anyone who seriously thinks this knife is only worth $360 doesn't know what they're talking about.

If that's all you're willing to pay, I get it, but don't start believing that that represents the actual value of this knife.

The ZT 0777-M390 is certainly as good as some $500-$550 knives I have: CRK Sebenza, Wilson Combat (Les George) Eagle and Strider SNG-GG. So, on that basis I'm not doubting its worth at MSRP ($450).

All I'm saying is that I've seen prices anywhere from $360 to $485 from ZT dealers and much higher on the BF Exchange & the big auction site.

Jimmer! Almost did not recognize you in gold instead of red!

I just received my 777M390 and I agree with you - it is well worth the cost. I know some of the other makes achieve price realization by virtue of making known the precision that goes into the build.

If anyone doubts the precision of the build of the 777, then they are not aware of what it takes to 3d machine carbon fiber, for one thing. ZTVT, carbon fiber, sub-frame lock with replaceable lockbar face. Unique pivot screws, and a very pleasing style that at once looks great and allows a firm grip that feels right.

Not to mention a custom machined pocket clip from titanium and M390 steel.

Perhaps the issue is that people are becoming desensitized to truly GREAT knives, as ZT is putting out so many of them. ;^)

Hey jimmer, got any BLK M390 pics you're willing to leek ;)

I ordered a DLC one, because I don't want to miss out. And I have a sneaky suspicion it looks badass!!

Can anyone confirm which parts of the ZT0777 are titanium? Curious from an anodizing standpoint...

I think there will be enough stonewashed to go around it's like the 0560 cbcf I wouldn't even panic by months end.

Well, I'd rather have the satin blade, but I jumped on the HOB DLC version just to make sure I get one. If all this scrambling to get one blows over and there are satin ones available for a similar price, I'll probably pick one up and sell the DLC version. I don't predict an issue selling a DLC for the same price I bought it for. DLC 0777>No 0777

I always regret getting coated blades... the only exception being my Busses

I'm a fan of the satin or stonewashed finishes, myself. Still, I do very much enjoy my Cryo with its titanium nitro-carbide finish, though I don't dig into gravel banks with it, so it still looks very nice.
