ZT 0801CF In The "Wild"

I'm rather curious, if you will all entertain the thought process, how this knife will retain it's value moving forward.

ZT has had a pretty stellar launch of all of the limited editions thus far. However; thus far all of the LE knives released by ZT have been original designs or collaboration work, but nothing was an upgraded version of a standard production model. This is something that I really appreciated about ZT versus Benchmade. They produced something epic first, then make a toned down production version for the masses. Just like the 777 was followed by 0770 aluminum and CF. I suppose the 0560CBCF was also another version that moved to a more upgraded nature like the current 801CF... but none the less it's my assumption that these will move return to the dealers price in a few months once the excitement has died down. If they announce or release even more epic designs with the upcoming Blade Show, I think it will expedite the process.

The ZT0600 was another one that went a bit crazy at first then returned to "fair" prices. I picked mine up a number of weeks back for a very fair price and it's an epic knife.

I am just now seeing some of the m390 0777's hitting the classifieds in a more reasonable price range and I attribute that to more ZT models finally being released. (One of which I just paid for as well)

Also, after all of the LE 888's are released (still waiting on Maxim and m390) will they do a production version of this knife?

I've hit quite a few different discussion points that could merit their own threads... but I'd love to hear your thoughts or speculation!!
 
Doesn't look to promising for me.. Been looking several times a day on 6 different sites for almost a week hoping to find one. The ones I do find are $400+. I'm at a $350 budget on this knife. I hope these dealers get a 2nd shipment. I really want this knife! Keeping my fingers crossed

I bought mine yesterday and its serial is #0357. We at least know that that much were made and sold by KAI.
I am assuming (and these are just assumptions) that a fair amount of ~500 could have been made.

I'll post pictures when it arrives, tuesday.

Don't give up looking, dealers could very well receive a second batch...

Is your budget of 350$ including taxes/shipping costs ??
 
Just received mine serial #724. To me the carbon fiber is not near as smooth and glossy as have been pics I have viewed. Action is smooth, blade is awesome and centered.

Meaning it gives a good extra grip compared to the 0801?!? (just curious, didn't receive mine yet)
 
Yes the grip would be better. The edges just aren't as smooth as I thought it would be. It appears they are hand done and not multiple machine produced. It just doesn't appear as a production knife.
 
The highest serial number I've seen so far is in the 700 range.

I know when I was calling around trying to find one a couple of the dealers said that these are a distributor exclusive from 2 different distributors and that changes how many were made and how they are distributed. It seemed that they were saying that less were made because these are distributor exclusives.

Of course, that could be totally wrong and a couple of thousand wind up being made.

Regardless, one of them had one for $325 shipped so I bought it. According to tracking it should be here Monday.
 
Dang. Missed it again. My wife was doing her 1st half marathon this morning. Been checking this thread every 30 minutes usually.
 
ZT 562's are scheduled for probably christmas. Next run of 801cf's may also be around that time. Maybe.
 
Just got mine from KW today. It is out of the box perfect! We'll worth the 11 month wait. This one is already in my pocket. I have enough knives sitting on shelves.
 
This whole ordeal is so stressful haha, I will be so upset if I can't find one of these....I have my doubts though
