Zt 0801s110vblk

let me preface this question with a, I'm a HUGE ZT fan... Do you think these may be blems from the original batch DLC'ed? Not that it would matter, just curious.

All the guys at work are mad jealous of this knife. I still can't get over how good the matte black looks on this one. No reflections at all.

I think this same question was raised when the 801BRWCF came out, asking if they had just "brownwashed" the 801CF blems. I don't think there was ever any evidence that ZT had done so and as far as I heard most were quite satisfied with the BFWCF version (I know mine is absolutely awesome).

I wouldn't worry about it.

Thanks for the responses. I purchased regardless, I was just wondering, as I didn't know if the same 801bwcf question was ever answered, confirmed, or plausible.

Received mine today...I got #00098! Theoretically, there shouldn't be a serial number higher than that, if the dealer has provided correct information. If I can't have #00001, I suppose the next best number if #00098. :D

The pocket clip has a "tumbled" or "distressed" look to it, which doesn't really "go" with the rest of the knife. A matte black clip would have been awesome. Not sure how feasible that is/was.

I can't believe that there are still more than 75 of these available.

Usually, the highest serial number exceeds the total pieces in the run by about 10%-15% since some don't pass QC.

Mine should be delivered today as well.

Good point...will be interesting to see if someone gets a SN greater than #098.

My ZT 0801S110VBLK Serial# 0059 came in it looks great. The DLC coating gives it really good traction. I agree that clip should've had the matte black finish and it looks more like BlackWashed. Excellent flipper action, sharp and centered blade.

I noticed that the MSRP on the box says $375 so the MAP is $300. The dealer is selling it above MAP at $325.

The new ZT 0801S110VBLK standalone and with its sibling 0801S110V:

Congrats Comeuppance. Two fine examples.

Centered and sharp blades with nice grinds. Nice lockup and flips like a charm. Personally, the 0801 series has the just-right detent with great flipper action from day one. A minor gripe is that I wish the clip matched the nice matte finish of the overall DLC coating. Also, they really should be selling these at MAP.

The benefits (to GG) of having a monopoly on the item.

Indeed. However, it has resulted in very slow sales with only 24 of 98 sold in 4 days! I wouldn't be surprised that in a month they might sell at MAP if still in stock.

Just got #0090.

GG was having a weekend sale last weekend and picked it up for $289.

Love it!
