ZT 0909 Zero Tolerance 0909

I got one in and it carries way way better than the 030x or the 0200.

It's closest to the 0350 in would think. I don't own one anymore but that's what it reminds me of the most.

Awesome knife.

That's really awesome and good to know.:cool:

Congrats on getting one.

Pivot to pivot with the 0560cbcf and the 0300bw

Nice pics scurvy, I just ordered a 909 last night from kershawguy. How would you say it compares in durability to the 300? And any chance of a shot of the tips. I'm hoping the knife is plenty beefy. I want it to hold up to some nice hard use,

I carried mine this morning - in dress slacks.

Carried all the way back in the right front pocket, it carries great - you don't know it is there.

I am not much more than average size - 6'2" 275 lbs - but this knife is not noticeable when carried clipped to my pocket.

It is slightly smaller than the 300, and carries much smaller in my opinion.

It sure is beefy, and like Czech - I love the "old school" pivot with the hex bolt, but the ZTVT makes the blade very smooth to operate in either direction.

Another thing that I notice right away, the detent ball is apparently very close to the edge of the lockbar, so when you disengage the lock and pivot the blade closed, the detent rides up on the blade tang very early in the motion, thus avoiding the "step" feeling you get on some other knives as the detent rides up on the tang later in the "stroke", if you will. This makes the 0909 feel even smoother operating; at least to me.

A great knife that will be a classic - stock up!

The more I see and read about this knife the more I want one LOL. I love the 0350 (had three or four of em!) and still have an 0300 & 0301 so the 909 is looking pretty good.;)

Also; dat pivot. ;):thumbup::rolleyes:

Old edc pic for reference:

It definitely has some weight, but as others have noted, it carries very well and feels great in the hand. It has a strong detent so you cant be half-hearted on the flipper.

6.95 ounces on my scale, and I love it. It is not huge. I'd say it is closer to an 0801 than a 0560. It is in my top 5 already.

Good comparison pictures,, and nice collection!

The 0909 is definitely going to be a good seller; it's got all the right stuff.

thanks for the pictures -

Why the oversized hex pivot instead of the domed torx screw? Advantages of this one?

It's easier to adjust. It's also male/female instead of male/tube/male, which in my experience is less prone to loosening.

I agree, and also think the hex head is harder to strip IMHO unlike a smaller Torx pivot...

Beefy:

Maybe I'm alone here, but I NEVER look at weights when I buy a knife.
When wearing jeans, an "X" "oz/pound" knife means nothing.
I just don't see why some people feel the need to have a knife that weighs .0001 ounces.
And as far as I'm concerned (with exception to titanium), a slightly heavier knife feels better made.

I like the hex/bolt pivot so much, I wish the 035x, 055x and 056x knives had it as well...

It could've become a ZT standard instead of only being used on four of their knives (that I'm aware of LOL)

I'd really like it on all the 056x knives.

I'd really like it on all the 056x knives.

Agreed; it would have been perfect on any of the larger/beefier models; it's unfortunate they didn't use it because it would have added a lot of extra character...

Coparison: this (oh yeah!)

Versus this pivot (not that my 0560 is without character LOL ;))

I just got both of mine in today, one from kershawguy and one from HWF on the exchange. I can't express how much I love these knives. I think I just discovered a grail without even initially realizing it. :D I was just stoked about having a larger knife in the same general shape as the 0900, but these guys have exceeded my expectations in every respect. A few family photos:
