ZT Cardinator

I don't think that is the same knife, looks nothing like a SiDiS design.

he was talking about my question which was if anyone knew what the knife was that was in the picture under the cardinater. And was right as was the last guy on it being a messer.

I have decided that I like the looks of this knife. That means, of course, it will be out of my price range. (I don't know the MSRP but I expect it to be over $300.)

whoops, my bad.

no idea about prices, but could be the same as the 777/888, so right about $550 MSRP if you can score one?

There are a couple reasons your bound to get some short replies when asking about pre-orders and deadlines. One is that many people confuse ETA (ESTIMATED time of arrival) with deadline. If KAI were to say they are expecting to have a knife hit the market on a particular date people have their pitchforks ready a week beforehand crying foul if the knife isnt on their doorstep on that date. And in Ultra rare cases there are multiple dates given by some well informed people and they are missed due to product changes. Due to some of the issues regarding deliver dates KAI is pretty tight lipped these days about delivery dates. Its simply easier this way. We all would like to know when something will be available so we can arrange funds or plan ahead but I think people tend to over simplify what it takes to get a knife from the CAD program and into a tangible product in sufficient numbers to supply demand.

Now you may be thinking but I didnt ask when it would be released. And your right but pre orders usually wont take place until a release date is either established and getting near. Having a preorder today for a knife that might not make it to market for another year or two usually ends up with at least one or two angry mob threads.

This is awesome. If I didn't mind having it all in my sig line, I would probably have this there.

Oh it wasn't directed at you completely just making a statement. Plus text doesn't convey tone of voice lol

I got the statement completely, but nowadays bold text does come across as stern speech unfortunately, especially as a reply. I can see how someone would take it that way. Just like the shouting in all caps replies. OH YEAH, CAPS LOCK RULES! :p

Yeah, beautiful knife................and I actually like it more than the other ZT's that I have ordered/pre-ordered lately. The problem is, I hate not having any idea when we can expect to see it............3 months? 6 months? 1 year? 2 years?

I wish knife companies, and KAI, to be exact, wouldn't say anything about a knife until the pre-orders are within a couple of weeks of getting started. That was I don't have to spend forever wondering when..........when.............WHEN!?!?!?!?!

Whoa this is a must have. Just stumbled upon it for the first time just now.

It's quite a bit longer than I am willing to carry so I'll probably pass on this unless I can get an absurdly good price. But it's so slim and sexy looking...KVT+Elmax or another spiffy steel (CTS-204P or XHP come to mind) might force my hand...

The pics so far have been of the custom knife unless I missed something in the middle pages somewhere. I bet we will get to see a KAI made prototype at/after Blade as well as probably some other as yet unseen knives. The production knife is probably going to be even more beautiful than the custom and will probably feature some of the newer technologies brought out in the 0777 and probably some new ones as well. Not everything may be in this knife, but somewhere in their new showings at Blade there will be some new innovations I expect in both finishes and fabrications. They just can't leave something that works alone and are always trying to one up themselves. This year will probably be like other recent Blade years, where it isn't a matter of if they bring home an award but a question of if they left enough room in suitcases for all of the ones they do win. Go Team KAI!

Quite the "prognosticator" aren't you? ;)

I sure hope some new info on this knife surfaces at Blade right now. Of course I must add that I'm also hoping to see some new designs being unveiled as well.

I guess now it is legal to say )
This beauty's name is ZT 0454:

I'm not feelin' it, at all. Not in the original form, nor the composite blade. Looks like a Kershaw to me, not Zero Tolerance. On the bright side, though, maybe I can pick up another real ZT knife, like the 303.
