ZT Customer service question

I've never had occasion to use ZT customer service for anything, so I'm a bit curious if they really take 6 weeks to get a knife back when sent in for sharpening or warranty repair? I've gotten things back from Benchmade in about two weeks, CRK has taken a full two months. The ZT website says to allow for 6 weeks, and that's fine, but I just wondered if it'll really take that long (and hope it doesn't!)

I used it twice. In both cases, the knife was returned in no more than two weeks.

I have only used it once, but I was extremely impressed with both the quality of the service and the turn around time. I think mine were returned in under 3 weeks. I sent in a badly abused 0561 and they put a perfect edge back on it. I am impressed that they dont charge for return shipping either, as opposed to Sypderco.

No experience there either but I imagine it depends on the time of year/how busy they are.

I had to order a screws from them once, and if I recall it took about 8 or 9 days for them to arrive.

I had to send in my 0454 once (they did not loc-tite the knife at all and it shook itself loose) turn around time was around 2 weeks and did not cost me a dime.

Companies will *usually* put down the longest time they would expect for warranty work to take, that way the customer isn't hounding them sooner than that.
From what I have heard, ZT/Kai is usually pretty quick with the warranty work.
So if they say "Allow for 6 weeks" that means "don't hound us before the 6 weeks is up", but a lot of time, it will be less.

I've used ZT's CS a few times. Excluding transit times to and from Oregon they took about 6-8 business days.

The longest i ever had to wait was two weeks and that was only because the person who handled my issue knows im a diva and they didnt want to see or hear me cry. The shortest was 4 days. Imho kai warranty and service is the best in the business and that is from someone who currently owns nothing from thhe brand.

KAI is awesome! I have sent in a number of Kershaws and ZT's for sharpening and repair. Some of the best CS that I have dealt with.

I've never sent anything in... But, I've requested screws and pocket clips before and it only took under 2 weeks from when I sent the email to arrive in Canada.

Well, let's find out. I just got my ZT 0350 in m390 this week and it does not have a deep carry pocket clip. I'm going to go to their website right now and request information about a possible deep carry pocket clip.

welp that was fast, decided I wanted to talk to a live human being so I chose to make a phone call. Was directed to their parts department. Parts guy's name was Dan I believe. Super cool dude on the phone. I asked him about a deep pocket clip that KAI makes for this knife and he informed me that they do not make one that fits this knife. He did inform me there are some 3rd party sites who do and was more then willing to list off a few where I might be able to pick one up. So unfortunately I'm of no help to you in regards to shipping and turnaround times, but I did talk to a knowledgeable parts guy who knew exactly what I was talking about without having to punch around in a computer and had answer to even a few off the wall questions I threw at him about this knife specifically.

I used ZT's customer service for the first time last month. I turned in a 0450CFZDP that had standoffs that weren't seated and a 0452CFM390BLU that made a weird grinding sound in its action. Once received, I got them back in a week. Awesome service from my experience!

Excellent service. Used it on a few times. Once for a sharpening, that was about four weeks including travel time across the country. Other times for replacement parts. Everything from pocket clips to a variety of screws. Very prompt on all accounts.

sent a zt0350 for a new blade it was gone 9 days total. they did an excellent job as well.

I sent in a ZT 0801 for some issues with blade play and they sent it back in about three weeks.
