ZT Emerson Collaboration

Wish I had my CQC-11...regret sending it to a knifemaker who scammed a bunch on this forum and a few others.

Who did you send it off to? Just to save us the trouble...

Freewheeling, the answer to that problem is to pre-order...I just placed mine :)

Yeah, so did I. Preorder wasn't available yet when I made the statement though. In general the G10s come out before the CF versions so it might be a long wait, but I don't mind.

Hey man do you know what model that is? They are coming out with so many along with Kershaw it's hard to tell but that looks sweet!

It's going to be quite the $%^% show when people realize just how badly the Emersons are over-priced compared to the ZT's...

This Zt will EASILY outshine the $400.00 cqc-12... without question...

Except for the blade shape...I far prefer the blade of the CQC-12.
Hence, the ZT would not be at all better for me, as it isn't what I'm looking for.

If they come out with an entire range of ZT collaborations, then sure; I could go for a frame-locked Super CQC-8 or Persian.
But that ain't what's gonna happen; Emerson will retain most of his designs so he retains most of his business and cash.

It's the smart thing to do.

Wow! I'm not much of a ZT fan due to flippers and AO. I'm not much of an Emerson fan due to F&F not up to the standards of the price. As either an Emerson with Kai build quality or ZT with Emerson wave and no AO this is a synergistic partnership I'll buy. Hopefully they'll eventually show up in stock somewhere 'cause I don't do pre order.

I will, however, have to sand off the silly death's head logo.

I'm not a fan of tantos, so I'll end up waiting until some folks put some used 0620's on the secondary market at a discount. There may be future Emerson/ZT designs, so I'm in no rush. I like the Kershaw Emerson CQC-5k though, which I'll definitely get not long after it hits dealer shelves.

Anyone know when these will be released? Seems like forever ago we first heard of them. Only production knife I'm really looking forward to in a long while..

What's funny is that I'd have preferred some of the Kershaw-Emerson overseas-produced models to have gotten the ZT treatment, instead of the ZT 0620. I'd like a larger version of the CQC-5K.

I'm also wondering this. I heard in some other thread that soon is not a crazy thought, being that it's been about six months.

Either way, I'm wondering if the lock cut out is going to be as ludicrously thin as other ZT's on these? I may not know much about material physics, and they may be strong enough for normal use, but if you're going to make a "hard use" knife why not make the cut out over .05" thick? Some ZT's I have used or held have had cut outs so thin that if you gripped it tight, like you would in "hard use", the cut out was sharp feeling and dug into the finger.
